According to Xu Ran, director of the Confucius Museum Costume Research Center, the heirloom costumes are better than the excavated costumes in terms of information retention, but due to material reasons, the costume cultural relics are relatively fragile and easy to age, coupled with the influence of external environmental factors, changes in temperature and humidity, light and harmful gases, some costumes and cultural relics have been broken and decayed after hundreds of years. "In view of the above situation, we have carried out protection and restoration projects, and taken corresponding protection and restoration measures for cultural relics that produce 'diseases'."

Xu Ran said that the Ming Dynasty Yan Sheng Gong costume has been passed down to the present day because of the special status of Yan Sheng Gong, which is the embodiment of the Ming Dynasty emperor's honor of Kong Chongru and the best basis for interpreting the Ming Dynasty ritual system. The costumes of the Ming Dynasty are superior to the excavated Ming Dynasty costumes with their characteristics such as the authenticity of colors, the integrity of the ornaments, and the stability of the structure, and at the same time, because of their well-preserved, complete categories, orderly inheritance, and complete clothing, they have become precious first-hand physical materials for studying the costume system of the Ming Dynasty and the past dynasties.

"This exhibition is not only a demonstration of the research, protection and restoration of the collection of Costumes of the Ming Dynasty, but also a presentation and practice of restoring and reproducing the historical value of cultural relics and rejuvenating the cultural relics collected in the museum." Xu Ran said that the Confucius Museum takes the promotion of China's excellent traditional culture as its own responsibility, launched the "Qi Ming ShengFu - Ming Dynasty Yan Sheng Gong Costume Exhibition" and published a collection of catalogues, aiming to deeply interpret the historical and cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, revitalize the cultural relics collected in the museum, guide the public to appreciate the beauty of clothing, and enhance national cultural self-confidence.

It is understood that the title of "Yan Sheng Gong" is the ancient Chinese dynasty's preferential treatment of Confucius's descendants, since the Han Gaozu Liu Bang worshipped Confucius with the ceremony of the etheric prison, Confucius's status has been continuously improved, and the descendants of the Kong clan have also been continuously awarded knighthoods, and the titles have changed with different dynasties. The title of "Yan Sheng Gong" lasted for 880 years, passed down for thirty-two generations, and forty-two people attacked the seal. (End)
