In Qing Dynasty film and television dramas, the audience often saw different words embroidered on the clothes of Qing Dynasty soldiers, some of which were "soldiers" and some of which were "brave", so they were all soldiers, why were the words different?
First of all, let's briefly understand the army system of the Qing Dynasty - the eight flags system, so which eight flags are the eight flags?
When Nurhaci raised his army, he rectified the military system, first four flags - yellow, white, red, and blue, and later expanded the scale, and added four flags - yellow, white, red, and blue, so that there were eight flags in total.
The Eight Flags system is a system of unity of the militia, and when there is a war, they are all soldiers, and when there is no war, they are all civilians, which ensures both the productive forces and the number of the army.
After the Qing Dynasty entered the customs, the status of the Eight Banners was very high, they owned a large amount of land, and did not have to pay taxes, as a result of the luxurious life gradually let them degenerate.
In the last years of the Qing Dynasty, internal and external troubles were constant, and it was the time when the eight flags were fighting, but they would not fight. Originally, the Eight Banners were all archers and could fight good battles, but after two hundred years of stable life, they only cared about enjoying life, forgot to train, they couldn't even ride a basic horse, and how to fight.
Since the Eight Banners could not be counted on, they could only recruit soldiers, the most famous of which was the Xiang Army.
During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement, the Eight Banners could not fight at all, so Zeng Guopan recruited soldiers from the people and formed the Xiang Army to fight against the Taiping Army.
These temporarily recruited soldiers, their clothes are embroidered with the word brave, not that they are brave, but that they are village braves, not regular troops.
The regular soldiers of the Qing Dynasty, the soldiers who were included in the organization, only had the character of soldiers embroidered on their clothes, indicating that they were soldiers of the Eight Classics of Zheng'er, and those soldiers who were temporarily recruited were not regular troops, they were only temporarily fighting wars, and they were disbanded after the battle, so they were brave characters.
The difference between soldier and courage is that one is regular and the other is temporary. Everyone who works knows that although the work of regular employees and interns is the same, the treatment is definitely different, and regular employees are definitely better than interns.
Soldiers with soldiers embroidered with soldiers on their clothes and township heroes with brave characters embroidered on their clothes are also different, and soldiers are definitely much better than township heroes, whether it is salary treatment or subsidy prizes, soldiers are dominant.
More importantly, the soldier is a professional job and can work for a long time, but the township brave is different, he is temporary, casually facing unemployment!
