Liu Wei, born in 1952 in Huaiyang, Henan, is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the honorary president of the Zhongyuan Calligraphy and Painting Institute, a part-time professor of Henan Engineering College, the vice president of the Zhoukou Branch of the Central Academy of Fine Arts of the China Democratic League, the vice president of the Zhoukou Branch of the Henan People's Congress Poetry and Shadow Calligraphy and Painting Institute, the honorary president of the Huaiyang Branch of the Henan People's Congress Poetry and Shadow Calligraphy and Painting Institute, the honorary president of the Confucius Calligraphy and Painting Institute of Henan Province, the consultant of the Zhoukou Calligraphy Association, and the honorary chairman of the Calligraphers Association of Huaiyang District of Zhoukou City. Huaiyang's rich cultural resources and the influence of the scholarly court made Liu Wei obsessed with the art of calligraphy as a child.
