In 2016, North China Electric Power University and the Confucius Institute of West Kentucky held a recruitment activity for Chinese artists from all over the world, which opened the prelude to the overseas art exhibition of calligraphy and painting art "Ink Reading China". Taking the chinese art of calligraphy and painting as the carrier, the "Ink Reading China" calligraphy and painting exhibition integrates Elements such as Sino-US people-to-people exchanges, social welfare, and folk friendship, creating a multi-win mechanism and model for Chinese artists, North China Electric Power University, Simpson Education Bureau, Western Kentucky Confucius Institute and the American people, forming its own unique brand.
In the past five years, North China Electric Power University and the West Kentucky Confucius Institute have organized experts to select more than 60 outstanding Chinese calligraphy and painting artists with public welfare feelings and the spirit of responsibility as "Special Artists of the West Ken kong Institute of the United States", and selected more than 300 calligraphy and painting masterpieces donated by special artists that can show the connotation and heritage of Chinese culture to be exhibited in the United States, which has aroused strong repercussions in the local area.
In 2021, in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, depict the bright prospects of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and show the firm belief of the Chinese people to always adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party of China and unswervingly take the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics, "Ink Reading China" also made a special gift to launch the "Ink Reading China" special edition calligraphy and painting exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
