Both Ma Dai and Wei Yan were generals of the Shu State, but Ma Dai's personal abilities were far worse than Wei Yan's. But in the end, Wei Yan was killed by Ma Dai, so why was Ma Dai of ordinary ability able to kill Wei Yan? I have this view on this issue. The first question is who is Ma Dai?
Ma Dai was a younger brother of Ma Chao, one of the Five Tiger Generals of the Shu Kingdom. Ma Dai was far worse than his brother, not to mention a general or an average medium general. Second, analyze Wei Yan.
Wei Yan was a major general in the late Shu dynasty. It can be said that in Zhuge Liang's later years, one of the generals that the Shu state could use was Wei Yan, and the other was Jiang Wei. However, Wei Yan's heart was particularly high, and his ambitions were also particularly large. When Zhuge Liang was alive, he exposed his tail and repeatedly openly opposed Zhuge Liang's desire to lead his own troops to fight independently. Zhuge Liang was still able to control Wei Yan while he was alive, and if Zhuge Liang died, no one in the entire Shu kingdom would be Wei Yan's opponent.
At the beginning, Wei Yan followed Zhuge Liang on his eastern expedition to the west and made countless military achievements. At first, Zhuge Liang actually did not want to kill Wei Yan and gave him a few chances, but Wei Yan was a arrogant lord and could not see Zhuge Liang's kindness at all. Even when Zhuge Liang used the Seven-Star Lantern to borrow his life for himself, he deliberately broke into Zhuge Liang's military tent and then kicked one of Zhuge Liang's heavenly lanterns that borrowed his life. This incident also made Ma Dai very annoyed.
In the rendition, if Wei Yan had not been so anxious to rebel, he would not have been killed by Ma Dai.
At that time, Wei Yan began to seize power not long after Zhuge Liang's death. Wei Yan and Zhuge Liang appointed Yang Yi, an agent of the Shu state army, to claim power. Because the time was too hurried, he was sent by Yang Yi and then forced to lead his men and horses out of the Shu army camp.
Zhuge Liang had already calculated that Wei Yan would rebel, so he left Yang Yi with the tips for killing Yang Yi.
Although Zhuge Liang was already critically ill at that time, he was still concerned about the future of the Shu army. He calculated that Wei Yan would definitely rebel after his death, so he asked Yang Yi to deliberately show weakness to Wei Yan, and then wait until Wei Yan's army was besieging the city, and then shouted at Wei Yan. If Wei Yan dared to shout three times who dared to kill me, Yang Yi would surrender the city.
Who knew that Wei Yan at that time did not know that this was a plan left by Zhuge Liang, and then stupidly shouted three times before the confrontation between the two armies who dared to kill me. In the end, He was killed by Ma Dai from the rear and then beheaded Wei Yan under the horse with a knife, and finally the invincible Wei Yan was killed by Ma Dai, who had mediocre qualifications.
So is Ma Dai's killing of Wei Yan just the credit of Zhuge Liang's plan, in fact, it really isn't. The reason why Ma Dai dared to sneak up on Wei Yan and kill Wei Yan was also due to the following reasons.
First, Ma Dai's family was still in the territory of the Shu Kingdom, and if he followed Wei Yan's rebellion, then all the clans in the family would be affected by him, which was not what Ma Dai wanted to see. His family from Ma Teng to Ma Chao and then to him, up and down after decades of development to have today's strength, even if Ma Dai himself died, wei Yan would not succeed.
Second, Wei Yan himself was too careless.
Wei Yan actually didn't take Ma Dai, who was trailing him, seriously from the beginning. Because two people are not a level in terms of status or kung fu. If Ma Dai clashed with Wei Yan head-on, he might be able to kill Wei Yan in one turn. At that time, Wei Yan did not think of plotting rebellion so early, but Yang Yi was not accustomed to Wei Yan deliberately provoking Wei Yan and forcing him to rebel. Ma Dai saw that his opportunity to make a contribution had come, and then he took his own Ma Jiajun and pursued Wei Yan together. In the end, Wei Yan's cronies were killed by Ma Dai's army, and Wei Yan himself was seriously injured and cut off his own head by Ma Dai.
But no matter which version of the situation, it points out one thing, that is, Wei Yan was indeed killed by Ma Dai, which is something that history cannot change.
