On December 30, Meizu Flyme officially released an announcement in the Meizu community that due to business adjustments, Flyme's mobile phone cloud backup function will be discontinued on March 31, 2022, and the cloud backup function entrance will be closed on the day of decommissioning, and all cloud space storage resources will be reclaimed, and it is recommended that users back up data or system migration as soon as possible.
The announcement also explained that Flyme's data cloud synchronization function (that is, cloud synchronization of contacts, notes, text messages, call logs, etc.) and cloud photo album functions are not affected by this adjustment.
Flyme's mobile cloud backup function is mainly used to upload and backup the desktop layout, applications and system settings in the mobile phone to the cloud, and turning off this function will mainly affect the convenience of directly migrating the old application/desktop layout/system settings when the old user replaces the new machine.
This is not the first time Meizu has adjusted for cloud service-related matters, meizu has previously recovered free capacity for a large number of users who have not used the cloud album function for more than 365 days, combined with the operation of shutting down the cloud backup function, it seems that Meizu is shrinking the resources invested in the cloud server, of course, for users who are still using Meizu mobile phones, such adjustments are obviously not a good sign.
