In 2021, Nintendo released many big games, and its 2020 releases also continued to be successful. Many of Nintendo's major game series have new titles this year, such as Super Mario 3D World + Rage World, Zelda Legend: Sword of Heaven HD, Pokémon: Crystal Diamond/Bright Pearl, etc. As many big game developers increasingly turn to digital games, Nintendo controls Amazon's physical game sales charts for 2021, and almost all of the top 20 are Nintendo games.

As of Dec. 29, Nintendo's games maintained an overwhelming margin on the physical game sales charts, with 19 of the top 20 games being Nintendo products (excluding peripherals and gift cards/digital editions). The previously mentioned Super Mario 3D World + Rage World occupies the top spot on amazon's best-selling games this year, with Switch's Dancing Power 2022 and Collection! Animal Friends came in second and third place, respectively. It is worth noting that the only non-Nintendo game that entered the top 20 is the PS4 version of NBA 2K22 at the bottom of the list.

In addition to Nintendo's most popular games of 2020 and 2021, many of switch's older games continue to dominate the best-seller list. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Edition, Nintendo Smash Bros. Brawl: Special Edition, and Zelda Legends: Breath of the Wild are all in the top 10 best-selling, although they were all launched in the first two years of console release.
