In 1993, an elderly man was sued by the Bank of Taiwan.
In court, the old man had no fear on his face and loudly exclaimed a lifetime of exclamations:
"I wiped out 100,000 Japanese troops."
The old man's name was Xue Yue, and in the years of war, he was the "god of war" who made the enemy feel frightened, how did he know that his evening scenery was desolate, and he could not even pay the rent.
But even so, he stood tall in the sky all his life, frankly, and made great contributions to the country.
To make such an exclamation is really at ease, and at the same time, it makes the listener unable to move.
What happened to General Xue Yue? Why did he, who was full of merit, have such a hard time in his old age?
01
Xue Yue was born in 1896, a native of Guangdong, in the chaotic situation, his father still hoped that he would be able to serve his motherland when he grew up, coupled with his great admiration for Yue Fei, he named him 'Xue Yangyue', and later for some reason, he changed it to 'Xue Yue'.
Xue's father, who had strong patriotic feelings, insisted on sending his son to study in the poor family situation, and when his son was 16 years old, he sent him to a military school. There, he received rigorous training and gradually transformed into a good soldier.

At the age of 18, Xue Yue devoted himself to following Dr. Sun Yat-sen, joining the Chinese Revolutionary Party, and in 1918, joining the Guangdong Army, with his excellent performance, he won the trust of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, was his loyal and courageous escort, and gave his life to protect Dr. Sun Yat-sen when he was killed.
In 1925, Dr. Sun Yat-sen died of illness, and Xue Yue, in grief, could only follow Chiang Kai-shek. He was very good at fighting, and he was bold enough, so he was invincible, made many military achievements, and really had Yue Fei's demeanor. In terms of human sophistication, Xue Yue did not like flattery, his straight-forward personality,
Chiang Kai-shek was not very satisfied, and the two did not get along very harmoniously.
Xue Yue had openly opposed Chiang Kai-shek, which made Chiang Kai-shek have concerns about him and could not fully trust him. In terms of combat styles, the two are also diametrically opposed, Chiang Kai-shek is very conservative, and Xue Yue is very bold, so they often have differences and quarrels.
These factors all determined that after Xue Yue followed Chiang Kai-shek to Taiwan, the evening scenery would not be too good.
02
In 1937, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Xue Yue only obtained chiang kai-shek's approval after three requests for war, and was able to serve as the commander-in-chief of the 19th Army of the Nationalist Army to resist the Japanese army. With his outstanding military ability, he analyzed in detail the reasons for the heavy casualties of our army in the Shanghai battlefield, made a new strategic plan, and broke the Japanese army's intention to fight a quick battle and make a quick decision.
In September 1939, more than 100,000 Japanese troops launched an attack on Changsha, and Chiang Kai-shek called Xue Yue nine times in one night to ask him to retreat and preserve his strength. Xue Yue refused, believing that Henan had been lost and that Hunan must be defended no matter what, otherwise there was a danger of national destruction. For this reason he resolutely guarded Changsha,
A military order was made, and if he could not hold it, he apologized with death.
On the battlefield, he created his own "Heavenly Furnace Tactics" and defeated the enemy one by one. Later, in the enemy's two counter-offensives, with flexible tactics, he once again severely damaged the enemy and annihilated 110,000 Japanese troops. Xue Yue is a veritable anti-Japanese general, no matter where he goes, he is warmly welcomed by the people, and is called the 'God of War' by the people, which is the most beautiful moment in his life.
In March 1950, Xue Yue withdrew to Taiwan, and Chiang Kai-shek always distrusted him, but only superficially gave him care, and granted him some false positions. This made Xue Yue, who was galloping on the battlefield and invincible, very helpless, and in the absence of soldiers to take, he could only retire and live a life of idle clouds and wild cranes.
03
Others saw that he had achieved success and retired, but in fact, his heart was full of a sense of hero's loneliness, and he missed his hometown far away on the mainland. In terms of life, when Chiang Kai-shek was alive, his economic conditions were not bad, he had a yard, a guard, and his life was plain and stable. However, after the death of Chiang Kai-shek's father and son, the fierce Xue Yue offended people and his life fell into difficulties.
His house was taken over, the funds were gone, and he had to pay the rent himself. He was old, fell into such a miserable situation, had no choice, could not pay the high rent, so he was sued by the Bank of Taiwan.
In court, he exclaimed with grief:
"I once annihilated more than 100,000 Japanese troops!"
After coming down from the courtroom, he moved to a small house, more than ten square meters, with only one bed, one table, and one stool. In the last period of his life, the famous anti-Japanese general lived so desolate and helpless, recalling the glory days of the past, how bitter and bitter he should be...
On May 3, 1998, the old god of war completed his life at the age of 102. His life, magnificent and desolate, has left a legend and a sigh to future generations.
