At the tomb of Dou Taiwei, the speakers ridiculed his tallness, and no one at that time said that he had lost anything, so how could he repeat it today! When Emperor Taizong married his daughter, he sent too much to the eldest princess, Wei Zhengjin advised, Emperor Taizong used his words, and Empress Wende also rewarded him, so that the People of Wei Shu would worship his father's grave and call himself a tomb, so as to speed up his misfortune! The husband will be honored by his father, and if he wants to raise his grave, he will be embarrassed! And the courtiers and other repeated speakers, Gai wants to become the beautiful ears of the Middle Palace. What we do today, when we preach infinity, we will always think of the Dhamma, but we should not be careless! Shang Yue said, "How dare you be selfish whenever you want to be in the right place, but in the case of your wife!" However, this is difficult for people to say, and Qing can stick to the ceremony, so as to become beautiful, and to look forward to the future of the Fa. "Give Song Jing and Su Yong four hundred horses."
【Translation】 In the summer, in April, at noon (24th), Kaifu Yi died with the third division of the Prince of Qi, Ren Jiao. His son Wang Shouyi (王守一), the duke of Madu, requested to build a five-foot-tall tomb to be built in the footsteps of Dou Xiaochen, and Emperor Xuanzong granted his request. Song Jing and Su Yong firmly opposed this, arguing: "According to the provisions of the order, the height of the tomb of Yipinguan is nine feet, and the tomb buried near the emperor's mausoleum is only three zhang higher." After Dou Taiwei's grave was repaired, many people in the street talked about it for being too tall, but no one insisted on pointing out its faults at that time, so how could such a mistake be repeated now? When Emperor Taizong sent his daughter Princess Changle to marry, the dowry was more than the eldest princess, Wei Zheng was dissuaded, Emperor Taizong adopted his advice, and Empress Wende also asked Emperor Taizong to reward Wei Zheng, where like Wei Shu people revered his father's grave, called Fengling, so that he could hasten the arrival of the plague! As the emperor's father's honorable status, if you want to make the tomb taller, what difficulty is there? The reason why the ministers and others repeatedly advised and stopped this was only to achieve the good name of the queen. Moreover, what His Majesty is doing today should be passed on endlessly, and will always be emulated by future generations, so how can we not be cautious in doing it! Emperor Xuanzong said happily, "Shuo has always wanted to set an example for the people below with his own correct actions, where dare he have a preference for his wife and children?" But this is something that is difficult for ordinary people to say, and you can do things strictly according to the rules of the code of etiquette, so as to achieve the virtues of yuan and leave an example for future generations, which is exactly what you want. "Give Song Jing and Su Qiao four hundred silk horses."

Therefore, Tang Xuanzong's first reaction must be to agree to this request, but agreed, as said at the beginning of this article, you are over-regulated, so that a very bad start was made, and the order of the organization was affected.
Therefore, here, Tang Xuanzong is likely to privately discuss with Song Jing and Su Yong and let them come out to oppose, or Song Jing and Su Yong know Tang Xuanzong's intentions and take the initiative to break the siege for the leader. Of course, the last possibility is that Song Jing and Su Yong really put the state's system at ease and took the initiative to maintain this system.
We see that Song Jing and Su Yong first explained the system, and in terms of the allusions mentioned by Wang Shouyi, they also gave a not-so-good evaluation of the time and the later generations, and it can be said that Wang Shouyi's claims were broken from both the system and allusions; and he applied the cases of the two aspects of the zhengfang of this dynasty, and because this case occurred in this dynasty, his persuasiveness was more authoritative and more convincing than the allusions of the previous dynasties cited by Wang Shouyi, and finally he put a top hat on Empress Wang, and I have to say that his persuasion technique here is already in place.
For Tang Xuanzong, these words could not be said by himself, because when he said them, he hurt his feelings, borrowed from others, and gave sufficient reasons, so Empress Wang herself and her family had nothing to say.
And if Empress Wang and her family members, even if they have hatred for the imperial court, they will not hate Tang Xuanzong's head, and Song Jing and Su Yong will carry this cauldron, which is very successful in diverting the focus of contradictions.
Finally, Tang Xuanzong said something to maintain the system, in addition to saying that he wanted to tell the Empress Wang's family, he also said that he had given it to the Manchu Dynasty Wenwu to listen to, no matter who it was, even my father-in-law, he could not go beyond the system.
