Hu Yuanqing:
We are the Communist Party and we must win the war
When I met the elderly Hu Yuanqing, he was sitting on the sofa watching TV, which broadcast "My Family Lives on the Shore", a TV series reflecting the Battle of the Crossing River. Elder Hu participated in the Battle of the Transitional River, liberated Shanghai, and also participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Because of this military career, he loves to watch war-themed TV series.
Elder Hu said that during the Period of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the conditions were very difficult. In order to avoid enemy aircraft bombardment, they could only march at night. However, what was more difficult than the night march was to face the cold attack, the winter in North Korea was unusually cold, and Hu Lao's regiment was mostly officers and soldiers from the south, and in the temperature of more than thirty degrees below zero, they had no experience in the cold at all. Elder Hu recalled that the feet of a comrade-in-arms were frozen black, frozen, and finally had to be amputated.
Elder Hu does not like to talk, and his answer is very concise, always in two words. But when he talked about the Battle of Shiyandong, his eyes suddenly turned red.
The Battle of Seokyondong, also known as the Battle of Seokdandong North Hill, the 67th Division killed and wounded more than 3,500 American prisoners, destroyed and wounded 19 tanks and armored vehicles, and consolidated the occupation of The North Hill of Shihondong, with more than 1,800 casualties.
Hu Lao was an artillery officer of the 199th Regiment of the 67th Division, and during the battle, he bravely advanced without regard for his personal safety, and his right hand and left foot were injured by enemy bombs, leaving him with a permanent disability.
In the early days of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the weapons and equipment of the enemy and us were very different, but the soldiers of the volunteer army were not afraid and used their flesh and blood to resist the enemy's aircraft and tanks. When recalling this experience, Elder Hu said with emotion: "We are the Communist Party and we must win the war. ”
More than 70 years have passed, and the soldiers of the volunteer army have won an environment for peaceful development for New China with their flesh and blood. Today, Elder Hu is in the same house for four generations, and the family is living in harmony and happiness. When we first met Wu Qingbo, the old man showed us this diary, and he recalled that in the rain of bullets and bullets, he repeatedly rubbed shoulders with the god of death, but many comrades-in-arms were not as lucky as he was, and they died on the battlefield at a young age. Every time he opened the diary, Wu Qingbo's memory could be instantly pulled back to that era.
In April 1949, at the age of 24, Wu Qingbo joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army and became a soldier in the 93rd Regiment of the 31st Division of the 11th Army. In March 1951, the unit's name was changed to "93rd Regiment of the 31st Division of the 12th Army of the Volunteer Army", and Wu Qingbo, together with his comrades-in-arms, crossed the Yalu River with his comrades-in-arms, and began his three-year battle to defend his family and defend the country in Korea. In the days of entering the DPRK, Wu Qingbo and his comrades-in-arms had to endure severe tests such as enemy air raids and bombings and shortages of military materials every day, and even ate snow and drank urine when they ran out of grain. With a will of steel, in the extreme cold and the bombing of the American army, the volunteers created miracles again and again.
