Recently, according to foreign media reports, Ford recalled two different Transit and Transit Connect models in the North American market. It is reported that the recall involves a total of nearly 5,000 vehicles, and the recalled vehicles and reasons are as follows:
2020 Ford Transit (4WD Version)
Reason for recall: Due to the unstable installation of the bolts of the rear drive shaft to the transfer box, the drive shaft may be loose or damaged during driving, resulting in the separation of the drive shaft from the transfer box, which in turn leads to the loss of power of the rear wheel and a safety accident. According to Ford's recall announcement, as many as 4,548 Transit (4WD version) may be affected.
2014 Ford Transit Connect (Panoramic Sunroof Edition)
Reason for the recall: The 2014 Ford Transit Connect with a panoramic glass roof has a glass sunroof roof that is not bonded to the vehicle, which may cause its roof components to completely detach from the vehicle while driving, increasing the risk of collisions and accidents. According to Ford's recall announcement, 311 Transit Connects (panoramic sunroof editions) may be affected.
Ford will formally issue a recall notice to the relevant owners next month and notify them to go to the officially designated dealer for free inspection and repair to eliminate the hidden danger of the accident. Fortunately, the recall does not involve domestic models for the time being.
