The hybrid system on the Macchiato DHT consists of a 1.5L hybrid engine, a 7-in-1 highly integrated hybrid transmission, and a battery pack. The total power of the system is up to 140kW (about 190 hp), and the torque is 370N·m, which is comparable to the mainstream 2.0T power on the market.

The smoothness of Macchiato DHT is the result of the joint efforts of both hardware and software. Hardware, although this hybrid has a two-speed architecture of power gear and economic gear, this is no longer a gearbox in the traditional sense, and there is no frustration of traditional AT or dual-clutch transmission.
Moreover, when the power gear and the economic gear are switched, because there is also the assistance of the motor, it will not cause power interruption, so the two gears are basically not felt when switching.
The advantage of the software is that when the engine drive and the motor drive intervene and switch with each other, The Macchiato DHT adjusts the logic very smoothly. In my own experience, I don't feel any setbacks at all, and I can basically do absolute smoothness.
Of course, although on the surface it seems as if nothing has happened, the system has been efficiently switching between complex drive modes: either pure electric drive, or power recovery, or engine direct drive, or engine and motor at the same time. We can hardly feel this process, but through the display of the screen, we can see the complexity and efficiency of the system.

Although the Macchiato DHT is a hybrid model, the scene coverage of pure electric drive is very high, that is to say, the logic of this car is to use electricity as much as possible when it can use electricity, which brings benefits in addition to being more fuel-efficient, and it will also make the car quieter, which is the innate advantage of Macchiato DHT in "static".

In actual experience, the sound insulation of the whole vehicle in the middle and low speed sections is very good, and after the speed rises, the suppression of road noise and wind noise is also good. Fuel saving is the biggest highlight of this hybrid system, how much is it, the official fuel consumption is 4.7L / 100 kilometers, and the endurance is 1100 kilometers.
In the actual driving, after a comprehensive road condition of about 73 kilometers, we obtained a comprehensive fuel consumption of 5.0L/100 kilometers under the condition that there were 3 people on board, the whole air conditioner was turned on, the road section was relatively smooth, and the average speed was about 40-50km/h.

Compared to these two opponents, Macchiato's DHT and Honda's i-MMD and Toyota's THS hybrid are both made to save fuel. DHT is a latecomer compared to them, but the latecomer has the advantage of a latecomer, can apply the latest technology, and choose the best technical solution.
In contrast, Toyota's THS is more engine-driven vehicles, with motors more assisted at acceleration and start-up. Honda's i-MMD is a hybrid that is closer to pure electric drive. Advantages in everyday car scenarios
All of the above are the theoretical advantages of the DHT system, let's take a look at how it behaves in everyday driving.
First of all, let's first look at the working conditions of parking idle, in urban driving, whether it is parking and waiting for people, or congested road sections or traffic lights, there will be parking idle conditions. DHT hybrid At this time, not only does the engine not work, but the motor will also be in standby, and the energy consumption is basically 0.
And when the green light starts, because the motor can release the maximum torque instantaneously, the start is faster and smoother.
When driving at low speed in the city, the vehicle is driven only by the motor, which is close to the driving experience of pure trams. The engine only starts to charge the battery when it is low on power. At this time, the engine will also be in the most efficient range, and the fuel consumption is of course relatively low.
When driving on suburban, elevated and other medium-speed roads, if the speed is greater than 35km/h, the system will intelligently select EV pure electric mode or engine direct drive mode. When the engine is directly driven, the energy efficiency will also be increased by 3%-5% compared with the tandem mode, that is, when the engine generates electricity and the motor drives the vehicle.
In the case of rapid acceleration or overtaking in the middle-speed section, the engine and the drive motor jointly contribute to ensure sufficient power.
When cruising at high speed, this is itself an efficient range of the engine, so the system will choose the engine economical block direct drive. When overtaking at high speed, the engine will switch to the power block, and the engine and drive the electric machine will work together to make you overtake at high speed without pressure. The lack of high-speed overtaking is a common pain point faced by other hybrid models.
Of course, in most operating conditions, when you press the brakes, the system will turn on the energy recovery mode to maximize energy utilization.
