On December 27, at Baidu Create 2021 (Baidu AI Developer Conference), Baidu founder, chairman and CEO Robin Li introduced that Jidu will release the first concept car in 2022 and mass production in 2023. In addition, Baidu released the "Radish Run" in August, and the self-driving mobility service plans to expand its services to 65 cities in 2025 and 100 cities by 2030.

According to reports, the automotive robot developed by Jidu will have L4 level automatic driving capabilities, running through the three concepts of "free movement", "natural communication" and "self-growth". Robin Li said that revolutionary car robots with emotion and intelligence will bring about a long-term change in the way travel is done.

Robin Li believes that intelligent transportation will be a major change affecting the next 10-40 years, so that China's first-tier cities will no longer need to restrict purchases and traffic within 5 years, and basically solve the problem of congestion within 10 years. He believes that intelligent transportation can solve three major problems: First, reduce road safety accidents by 90%. Second, the system solves the congestion problem. Third, autonomous driving and intelligent transportation can help reduce carbon emissions. The data shows that 94% of traffic accidents are caused by human factors, and autonomous driving will eliminate human factors. As technology matures, autonomous driving will be safer than human drivers. At the same time, the intelligent road system is achieving unimpeded traffic through vehicle-to-road coordination. Experimental data prove that when all intersections in a city are intelligent and city-level regional information control optimization, the traffic efficiency can be improved by 15%-30%.
