Friends who know a little about the Farnsworth House know that this residence is the most enjoyable use of Mies's "less is more" concept, and the Farnsworth House was once hailed by the industry as an epic work under his modernist ideals.
Looking at the entire appearance of the building, it is true that Mies grasped the concise expression and restrained aesthetic just right, while the transparent glass around the building perfectly integrated with the external environment, and it was completed only in 1950, which is indeed a masterpiece.

But the Flowing Water Villa has been "anti-human" since the construction process. Wright "went his own way" by using a reinforced concrete cantilever structure that was not fully safe to use at the time, resulting in the risk of collapse of the external cantilever in the later period.
And because of its location on a creek, the damp and cold made the entire building uninhabitable, and, like the Vansworth House, it was flooded during the flood season.

The "leaking house" was a stumbling block to the masters' path of architecture, and Mies van der Rohe and Wright both overturned here, and our functionalist grandfather, Le Corbusier, was not spared in this regard.
As a classic of villa residences, Cobb's Savoy Villa was also considered one of the classic works of modernist architecture.

Even if it is true that form cannot be applied to functional needs, their architectural concept is still groundbreaking, still leading the way of modern architecture, and still breaking through the relationship between architectural space and technology and form.
Maybe even If Le Corbusier, Wright, Mies Van der Rohe... Standing in front of their own works, to feel their unbearable situation in a positive way, they will also shake their heads and say: "The practicality is indeed worse, but there is no need to change."
