If life is an adventure, then the new action in the epidemic period is an extreme adventure. And what is this fake magazine? I've always seen it as the spiritual source of everything our team does. So it needs to be full of rivers, it needs to go forward, it needs to accept praise and criticism without warning... Just make it a beacon!
- The Reason for the Fake Magazine
Fake Magazine came to an unfamiliar city. When it first met the Helan Mountain Study, the study was still a construction site, and the construction workers were the first to see fake magazines in the city. I'm curious about the city's reaction to The Fake Magazine and how it will change in the future, because the process of echoing between things at first sight gathers a lot of details worth thinking about. For us, the process and details can better reflect the attitude to things, it is obvious that the "Fake Magazine" is a publication with attitude, the Helan Mountain Study Is also a reading space with attitude, and Yinchuan is a vibrant city like the rising sun. They are connected in some way, even if it is just a fragment of memory, it needs to be carefully recorded, and we need to take seriously the situation of each book coming to the Helan Mountain Study.

Witchcraft Rhetoric

In the "Features" section, which is the main body of the magazine, we base ourselves on the creative practices of nine artists, and we present a partial presentation in which different authors are invited to comment and interview each other. Parallel Writing, on the other hand, is also based on a pan-mystical atmosphere, containing three semi-fictional texts. Since the release of the trial issue of the fake magazine in 2016, it has been shelved for various reasons, and in 2021, we picked up this infinitely shelved project that has never been completely put down, and I wish you all a happy reading.

"Almost Naked"

Shen Wei was born in Shanghai in 1977. His work has been exhibited at the City Museum of New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai, the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Flowers Gallery in New York, and the Sgnenberg Foundation in Poland. His work is collected by numerous public institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Getty Museum, the Museum of Contemporary American Photography, the Library of Congress, the He Xiangning Art Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, and the Chinese American Museum. He has received the Rockefeller Foundation Art Residency Award, the Asian Cultural Association Art Fund Award, and the New York Art Foundation Photography Fund Award. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Video Pure Art from the MinneaPos College of Art and Design and the New York School of Visual Arts.
Almost Naked focuses on the multifaceted nature of human nature through portraiture, including emotions, desires, instincts, and social characters. The artist wants to explore the complex relationship between emotional nakedness and physical nakedness, which is both unclear and undisguised, and hopes that these portraits can give the viewer more space for self-examination.

The book is largely made up of photographs from "Experimental Relationships" from 2007 to 2017.
As a woman, I used to think I could only fall in love with someone older and more mature than I was, a protector, a mentor, until I met my current boyfriend, Moro. Because he was five years younger than me, my supposed relationship was completely reversed. I became the one with more authority and influence. One of my male friends asked me how I could pick a boyfriend by the same criteria as he did for his girlfriend. I thought, "Yeah! That's what I'm doing, why not?! ”
I started to think hard about the significance of the relationship and experimented with photos. Mo Ruo made me realize that the relationship between men and women does not need a fixed pattern. Depending on each person's different circumstances, any combination of two people will produce a different relationship. Even if this relationship is different from the relationship between men and women to which we are generally accustomed, it can still exist and has its own advantages. The purpose of this experiment is to break down the inherent pattern in order to reach a new equilibrium point. Because Mo Ruo is Japanese, I am Chinese, and this series also describes a love-hate relationship.
I'm going to keep this work going as long as we're still together. I want this book to be the first in a series.

《Borderless》

This book mainly collects Wang Yishu's new works from 2016 to 2017. Quite different from his earlier works, the newly photographed works herald certain changes that are taking place: a high sensitivity to color relationships, structures and textures in space is constantly involved, and keen observations that previously focused on the characters are spreading into the corners. His inspiration is gradually shifting from people to things, from complexity to pleasure. More new photographs are gradually making these changes a strong impression, and the photos are like opening gaps in reality, filled with the independent appearance of the real world after it has been stopped. In those new photographs, Wang Yishu no longer constructs complex metaphors like in the past, they look more like an epiphany about light, color, and shadow. In some scenes, at certain moments, Wang Yishu uses flash to chisel and cut space and light, and he will artificially create shadows to affect the world in the photo.

"Double Circle"

"Double Happiness" focuses on the unexpected "role" played by cigarettes at Chinese wedding banquets. All the photos inside are from the "Beijing Silver Mine", a database of 500,000 waste negatives salvaged from beijing's fringe garbage dumps year by year. Of course, in addition to reading and treasure, this book also has the function of gifting friends to get married.
