It is understood that in this year's book fair, more than 60 Chinese publishing units will exhibit about 500 kinds of 1,000 high-quality publications through the 60 square meters of China Publishing Joint Booth with the theme of "Reading China". At the same time, we will actively carry out online book display, copyright negotiation and key book publicity activities.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the London Book Fair has cancelled physical exhibitions for two consecutive years. After the resumption of offline exhibition this year, more than 860 publishing institutions in 56 countries and regions have registered to participate in the exhibition, including publishing units in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, China, Turkey and other countries will participate in the offline exhibition. Several countries will appear as in the form of joint booths as in previous editions. The 480 seats at the International Copyright Center have been sold out in advance.

Hundreds of Chinese-themed books were exhibited

For participating in this year's book fair, Chinese publishing units have selected a number of excellent theme books in English for on-site display, including "Xi Jinping on Governing the Country", "Zhijiang New Language", "On Persisting in Promoting the Construction of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind", "Xi Jinping on the Belt and Road", "Xi Jinping Telling Stories" and other important works of General Secretary Xi Jinping and related books, introducing the governing concepts and values of Chinese leaders to the international community. The Chinese side will focus on displaying themed books celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, including "A Brief History of the Communist Party of China", "70 Years of New China", "Tinder - Searching for the Road to China's Rejuvenation" and other excellent works. In addition to the theme books, the China Publishing Joint Booth will also focus on the display of social sciences, traditional culture, literature, children's (English version) display and copyright key books, opening a window for international peers and overseas readers to understand China.

In addition, some of the high-quality books participating in the offline exhibition will also be displayed and promoted on the website of the Mainland Embassy in the UK and the "Reading China" special page on the official website of the London Book Fair, and the overseas book industry will write a book profile that is more in line with the needs of local readers, creating a never-ending book copyright display platform for the mainland's fine books, and continuously promoting China's good books to go abroad and enter the overseas market.

Nearly 20 online and offline activities were exciting

During this year's London Book Fair, Chinese publishing units will hold nearly 20 rich and diverse activities online and offline.

Focusing on the hot topics of common concern at home and abroad, exhibitors invited experts to conduct discussions and share the latest insights and insights. The high-level face-to-face event of China-UK Publishing jointly organized by Zhongtu Company and China Youth International invited a number of high-level Chinese and foreign book industry officials to connect by video link to conduct exchanges and dialogues on how to carry out publishing cooperation and jointly contribute to global scientific and technological innovation in the context of the epidemic. Chinese Min University Press took the opportunity to publish the "China Perspective" series of books it authorized by Lautledge Press to invite Chinese and British experts to discuss the countermeasures to global climate change.
