At 11:00 a.m., in the underground parking lot of an office building in Liangmaqiao, Beijing, 10 charging piles were also in a state of full load. Mr. Li is one of the earliest new energy vehicle owners in Beijing and a part-time online ride-hailing driver. Due to the long age of the car, the car that was originally charged a day became at least twice a day in winter, and the difficulty of queuing up the major public charging piles also made him feel helpless.
It is understood that the current energy supply methods of new energy vehicles are mainly divided into charging and power exchange. With fast-charging piles, it takes about one to two hours for a car to fill, and it only takes a few minutes to change the power, so has the power exchange improved? Then the reporter went to a substation located in the Red Scarf Bridge of Beijing's East Fourth Ring Road, and at three o'clock in the afternoon, there was a long queue of vehicles waiting here.

The number of new energy vehicles continues to rise, charging facilities "can't keep up"
The reporter's investigation learned that the activity of the power battery in the low temperature environment decreased, the net discharge rate of the battery decreased, and the battery capacity was affected, so it was necessary to increase the frequency of charging. So, under the premise that the bottleneck of battery technology cannot be broken through in the short term, is there any other way to solve the charging problem?
According to the statistics of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first three quarters, the number of new energy vehicles in China reached 6.78 million, and the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in the country was 2.385 million units. From January to November, sales of new energy vehicles were 2.99 million units, and the increase in charging infrastructure nationwide was 704,000 units. The growth rate of charging facilities is far from catching up with the growth rate of new energy vehicles.
Wang Du, deputy secretary-general of the China Automobile Dealers Association: It is expected that by the end of the year, the sales volume of new energy vehicles will exceed 3 million, and the penetration rate will increase by nearly 200% year-on-year.
According to the data, as of September 2021, the ratio of vehicle piles in China is about 3:1, but the average utilization rate of the entire public charging pile is less than ten percent, which is mainly due to the uneven distribution of charging piles.
Liu Kai, director of the Technology and Certification Department of the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance: In the early stage, the layout of site selection and construction stations was not very reasonable. There are also some problems such as the adaptability of the car and the pile, so it affects the owner's use experience.
Liu Kai said that to solve the problem of public charging piles for new energy vehicles, the key is to strengthen the convenience of charging. Technically, it accelerates the application of high-power charging technology, reduces the charging waiting time, unifies the interface, and improves adaptability. In terms of site selection, reduce the time for car owners to find charging piles, refer to the gas station model around the world, no matter where the owner is, you can find an available charging pile within 5 kilometers to improve the average utilization rate of charging piles. In addition, the government and enterprises work together to build and share co-management, in order to truly make new energy vehicles run.
