Shaoshan, China, December 25 (Fu Jingyi) "Chang'e-5 backup storage lunar sample handover ceremony" was held in Shaoshan, Hunan On the 25th, the China National Space Administration issued a Chang'e-5 lunar sample backup certificate and a Chang'e-5 mission exhibit certificate to Hunan University and Shaoshan City.

The Lunar Exploration 5 mission is China's most complex and technologically largest space system project, marked by the Re-entry and Return of 1731 grams of lunar samples carried by the Chang'e-5 returner in December 2020, which has achieved the successful conclusion of the three-step development strategy of "circling, falling and returning" of the lunar exploration project.

Shaoshan, Hunan Is the only backup and storage base for lunar soil samples in different places, and undertakes the important mission of preserving precious lunar soil samples. After the event, the lunar samples and parachute test pieces of the Chang'e-5 return capsule provided by the China National Space Administration will be exhibited in Shaoshan.

Zhang Kejian, director of the China National Space Administration, said that the first lunar sample collected by China is the precious result of tens of thousands of scientific and technological workers who have worked for decades to build a space power and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Backing up the lunar samples and storing them in Shaoshan is to comfort Chairman Mao's long-cherished wish of "being able to go to the moon for nine days", and also to fully display the innovative achievements made by China's aerospace industry in the new era, which is conducive to giving full play to the advantages of the resources of red tourist resorts and building a platform for popularizing aerospace knowledge and carrying forward the spirit of spaceflight, which is of great significance to further stimulating patriotic enthusiasm and embarking on a new journey of the second centenary goal.

Zhang Kejian pointed out that the current lunar exploration project phase IV and planetary exploration project has been fully launched and implemented, the international lunar research station, solar system marginal exploration, heavy carrier rocket and other major projects are also vigorously promoted, I hope that Shaoshan base to play the spillover effect of lunar sample storage, attract more scientific research institutes, high-tech enterprises, colleges and universities to join the lunar and planetary exploration project, further promote the development of the aerospace industry, gather more innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and help the rapid development of Hunan's innovative and technological industry.

At the Shaoshan Comrade Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, lunar samples, Chang'e-5 probe model, Chang'e-5 return capsule parachute, Shenzhou 10 return capsule, etc. have been exhibited in the same exhibition area. The lunar samples were shoveled by the Chang'e-5 mission and taken from the spaceship base in the northeastern storm ocean on the lunar front, which is a new class of lunar sea basalt. (End)
