At that time, Chen Kangrong's father frequently wrote to urge her to go to Burma, but he said to his father: "The rise and fall of the country is the responsibility of the husband." In May 1938, Chen Kangrong was assigned by the party organization to return to his hometown of Qiling and carry out anti-Japanese propaganda work in a rural school under the cover of teaching.
