Mercedes became the first team to complete the "engine ignition" of the 2022 F1 car!

Less than two weeks after the F1 Formula One Championship 2021 season, Britain-based World Championship team Mercedes posted a video on its social media last night to officially announce to the outside world that they had ignited the engine of the 2022 car W13.

Mercedes Team Leader Toto Wolff keeps abreast of the latest developments in the new car through mobile phone video. However, there is no way to further peek into the design of the new generation of racing cars from this video. The car will be the vehicle of two British drivers, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, for F1 2022.

Although the official ignition of the new car on Christmas Eve means that the development of the mercedes team's new car is progressing smoothly, we will not be able to see the true face of the W13 car until around February next year.

With new rules coming online in 2022, and new ground effect racing development speeds, it means teams will only confirm their final design at the last minute. And in order to avoid plagiarism from competitors, the team will not publish too many details prematurely.

The first round of official pre-season testing for the 2022 season will take place on 23-25 February at the Circuit de Barcelona in Spain, while teams are expected to release their new cars in the weeks leading up to that time.
