In the eleventh year of Daye (615), the Sui Emperor went on a hunting tour to the north, only to be besieged by the Turks at Yanmen (雁門, in present-day Dai County, Shanxi). Although there was a thrill to escape from the siege in the end, how to get out of the predicament has become a historical mystery.

The most popular theory is that Li Shimin led an army to the aid, based on the records in the Old Book of Tang. It is said that the Sui Emperor patrolled to the Yanmen area of Shanxi and was besieged by a Large Turkic army. More than 800 years ago, Liu Bang, the ancestor of Han Gao, was surrounded by the Xiongnu in Baideng, and the historical tragedy is repeating itself. Li Shimin led an army to break the siege and was subordinate to the troops of the Tunwei general Yun Dingxing. Before the whole army set out, Li Shimin offered advice to Yundingjian: "When Shibi Khan dared to besiege Tianzi, he felt that the incident was sudden, and zhongyuan could not come to the rescue between the pawns. Our army bluffed a lot, creating the illusion of tens of miles of flags one after another, and at night, the drums corresponded, and the Turks would surely mistakenly think that the reinforcements were too big to retreat. Otherwise, the enemy will attack in full force, and it will be in danger. Yun Dingxing followed Li Shimin's advice, and as a result, the reinforcements arrived at the county of Chengxian, and the Turks broke the siege and left.
The reason why the Old Book of Tang is written in this way is understood by everyone. It is only the historian's sloppiness, and another version is recorded in the Datong book "Biography of Xiao Yu": the Sui Emperor traveled to Yanmen and was surrounded by turks, and Xiao Yu offered advice: "I heard that Shibi Khan was a Yanmen who pretended to be hunted by the school, and Princess Yicheng did not know about this. According to Northern customs, Kogatun (after the Khan) also had the right to inquire about the affairs of the military state. In the past, the siege of Pingcheng (Datong) by Han Gaozu was also the door of the Xiongnu Fu clan. Princess Yicheng married into the Turks as an imperial daughter, and she also relied on the Central Plains Dynasty. If you tell her the news, she may help. Even if you don't help, you won't fall into the well. ”
Xiao Yu's mind was to hit three rods with jujubes without dates, but the Sui Emperor was equivalent to grasping a life-saving straw and immediately sending someone to Report to Princess Yicheng. When Princess Yicheng heard the news, she immediately dispatched an envoy to declare that there were police in the northern xinjiang of the country. Soon after The First Bi Khan ascended the throne, the regime was still unstable, and when he learned that the backyard was on fire, he could not continue to entangle with the Sui Emperor at the moment, so he resolutely abandoned the siege.
According to comprehensive analysis, the general situation should be that the call for the Shanxi garrison to come to the aid and the request for help from Princess Yicheng were carried out simultaneously. The role played by Princess Yicheng from it was crucial, and Yun Dingxing led reinforcements to relieve the siege, and Li Shimin was a dozen soy sauces.
Princess Yicheng was an important historical figure at the turn of the Sui and Tang dynasties. She was the daughter of Yang Huan of the Sui Dynasty, nominally a princess of the Sui Dynasty, and during the reign of Emperor Wen of Sui, she was married to the Turkic Qimin Khan, Shibi Khan, Chuluo Khan, and Poli Khan, and four khans.
Qimin Khan was a small khan who ran the north under the Great Khan of Dulan. Although Dulan Khan belonged to the Sui Dynasty, he was capricious. Emperor Wen of Sui married his daughter Princess Anyi to Qimin Khan in order to divide the interior of Dulan Khan. After Princess Anyi died, she married Princess Yicheng to Qimin Khan. After the death of Qimin Khan, the heir Shibi Khan wrote to the Sui Dynasty to "ask Princess Shang to obey her customs." Princess Yicheng had no choice but to remarry Shibi Khan according to the Turkic custom of accepting the marriage. He also married Princess Yicheng. Unlike the Central Plains, nomads favor sons over daughters, and women also have a considerable voice in the home. Thanks to Princess Yicheng's help, the Sui Emperor was able to escape danger at Yanmen.
After the death of Shibi Khan, Princess Yicheng married Luo Khan three times. After the death of Chuluo Khan, Princess Yicheng remarried Jieli Khan as his wife.
In the fourth year of Zhenguan (630), the Tang Dynasty sent troops to pacify the Turks, Princess Yicheng was killed by Li Jing, and The Poli Khan was also captured and sent to Chang'an.
After that, in order to praise the stinky feet of the Holy Heavenly Son, the historian simply attributed the credit for the siege of the Yanmen Gate of the Sui Dynasty Emperor to the name of Tang Taizong, who was wise and divine. Left and right are dead, and no one will jump out to hug a weak woman.
