Zhang Jie, the word is half white, the word blunt, the number Kui Lu, The Temple. Born in 1963 in Taizhou, Zhejiang. In 1989, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, and successively studied for a master's degree and a doctorate in Chinese academy of art, and obtained a doctorate degree in literature. He is currently a member of the Academic Committee, a discipline leader, a professor and a doctoral supervisor of the China Academy of Art, the dean of the School of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy art of the China Academy of Art, and the director of the Institute of Ancient Chinese Calligraphy and Painting. He is a review expert of the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, a researcher of the Chinese Painting Creation Research Institute of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the deputy director of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the China Artists Association, a member of the presidium of the Zhejiang Artists Association, and a member of the Xiling Printing Society.

Zhang Jie's painting practice is premised on the knowledge and understanding of tradition, he does not study tradition linearly according to historical chronology, but uses his own learning to explore those propositions that are rich in academic significance and commonality in tradition. He was well aware that "cultivation" was mainly the truth of "cultivating wisdom", and the Zhou Yi said that "knowing the past and learning from the past, studying deeply and studying several" is aimed at guiding people to approach the essence of wisdom in the tradition of contemplation, so as to achieve the highest state of wisdom. At this level, the trend of traditional trends and the energy of hair growth will be transformed into the visitor's own cognition. In addition to his creation, Zhang Jie has written a large number of traditional notes, and has made serious analysis and elaboration on the artistic characteristics, pen and ink techniques, language forms, constituent elements, character characteristics, and artistic expression of the landscape (see his book "Illustration of Chinese Freehand Landscape painting method"), which shows that there are always many practical problems in his thinking that have been touched upon in practice. He used these questions to persecute tradition, so he could go straight to the church and find the answer to the heart.
