According to CBN on Thursday (December 23), Guillaume Sicard, former CEO of Renault Brilliance Andrella China and chief operating officer of Renault China, has recently left China. Effective 1 January 2022, Sgeomey will succeed Vincent Tourette as Head of Marketing and Managing Director of Renault UK, responsible for the Renault brand's UK, Ireland, Malta and Cyprus operations.
Renault China did not release any information related to it, but Smiger himself has confirmed the matter and said he will spend the Christmas holiday in France.
"I am delighted to be part of this fantastic team from Renault UK. With the launch of the new all-electric Megana, next year is a critical moment for Renault's global and UK operations. We are accelerating our electrification program and I look forward to the next phase of our 'Reaulution' strategy." Schmeiger, managing director of the upcoming Renault Northern Territory, which includes the UK, Ireland, Malta and Cyprus markets, said.
In March, Renault announced a major personnel change, appointing former Volkswagen executive Weiming Su as CEO of Renault China and Sigome as Chief Operating Officer of Renault China.
Prior to his role in China, Smig was President of Nissan India and Chief Operating Officer of Renault Turkey.
Renault Britain has announced Schmeger's upcoming appointment. Group Renault has praised Schmeger's work in China, saying that his achievements and successes in his previous role mean that he will play an important role in Renault's UK business over the next 5 years.
Renault is currently advancing its "Renaulution" strategy to accelerate the pace of mobility of the future.
Since April last year, Renault announced that it will focus its business in China on light commercial vehicles and electric vehicles, and terminate its cooperation with Dongfeng Motor Group in the field of fuel passenger cars.
In addition to the Renault Brilliance Gold Cup, which is responsible for the light commercial vehicle business, Renault also carries out its electric vehicle business in China through two other joint ventures, EasyJet New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. and Jiangling Group New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd.
EasyJet is a new energy vehicle manufacturing enterprise established by Renault, Nissan and Dongfeng Motor Group in 2017 according to a 25:25:50 share ratio.
Jiangling Group New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. is an electric vehicle company founded in 2015. The company previously said that it will introduce Renault's advanced quality management system and technology, and launch 4 core models by 2022, covering 45% of the main models in China's electric vehicle segment.
