Pu Anxiu came from a famous family, and later studied in the history department of Beijing Normal University, and in 1938, he met the single Mr. Peng through the organization. At this time, she was only 20 years old, and she admired Peng Zong's heroic aura at the beginning, and Peng Zong also admired the new female Pu Anxiu who knew the book. Although Peng Zong was notoriously violent on the battlefield and was very strict with his generals, Peng Zong was very kind to his wife in family life, which can be described as coarse and fine. Until the liberation, although Pu Anxiu and Peng Zong did not give birth to a man and a half woman, the two were still regarded as a "model couple" by the military and the people, and later Pu Anxiu returned to his alma mater, North Normal University, as deputy secretary of the party committee, and was also respected.
After the end of the Liberation War, Peng Zong, as the commander of the Volunteer Army, commanded the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in the early fifties, and commanded the army to win this crucial battle for the founding of the country. However, something happened in 1959 that suddenly changed Peng Zong's military and political career, and directly destroyed his and Urasasu's originally happy family. At the Lushan Conference that year, General Manager Peng wrote a letter to the Central Committee opposing the radical and exaggerated practices of the Great Leap Forward, which not only unexpectedly led to his erroneous criticism, but also his dismissal.
In the first few years after the dismissal, The Peng family moved out of Zhongnanhai, but still lived in Beijing, and the overall environment was still relatively relaxed. However, Mr. Peng had a straight temper and wrote a long letter to the organization in June 1962 to defend himself. This led to an intensification of contradictions and further criticism. As a member of Peng Zong's family, Pu Anxiu was also greatly affected, and his work at Beijing Normal University could not be carried out normally, and he was often criticized and asked to "explain" Peng Zong's problems, and what "bad things" were plotted with Peng Zong at home.
Pu Anxiu is an intellectual, although he and Peng Zong have experienced many years of war, but they lack the ability to prepare and adapt to various changes in political life, and their resistance to pressure is not as strong as that of gay men. Due to his self-esteem and the need to change the harsh environment, Urayasu eventually wavered and filed a divorce request with Mr. Peng in the fall of 1962. Mr. Peng himself was lonely and alone, and his only wife who was around him also wanted to leave him, which was very painful mentally. But Mr. Peng took out a pear, cut it open, and gave it to Pu Anxiu in half, saying that he "agreed to the divorce" and did not want to continue to suffer the other half.
Since then, Pu Anxiu's conditions have gradually improved, after all, divorce is equivalent to "drawing a clear line" with Peng Zong, but Peng Zong's condition has deteriorated day by day, and the torture in the 1960s and 1970s has become more serious. In 1974, Peng Zong was terminally ill with cancer and did not have much life. In September 1974, the organization sent someone to ask Pu Anxiu whether he wanted to go to the hospital to "take a look" before Peng Zong died.
Since his divorce, Pu Anxiu has not seen Mr. Peng for 12 years. Since the organization sent someone to ask Pu Anxiu's opinion, Pu Anxiu was still like a bird of fright for the days when he was criticized, and he was afraid of being involved again, so he replied: "I still can't go." In fact, Pu Anxiu did not really go through the divorce procedures with Mr. Peng, but verbally agreed to break up, and the marriage relationship between the two of them was not dissolved legally. In this way, Peng Zong did not see his second wife who had accompanied him for 24 years until his death.
Mr. Peng died that year, and was formally rehabilitated four years later, restoring the reputation of a great military and revolutionary. Pu Anxiu was grumpy about the past of refusing to see the last side of Peng Zong, and in his later years he always used the collation of Peng Zong's materials and texts as a consolation, hoping to reduce the pain and regret in his heart. It is worth mentioning that because Pu Anxiu and Peng Zong did not divorce in law, and it was essentially a family affair, the organization later took care of Pu Anxiu, who had abandoned Peng Zong at a time of crisis, and let her serve as a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In 1991, Urayasu died of illness.
