After trial, the PeiXian Court held that Li had devoted himself to raising children and taking care of the elderly during the marriage, had fulfilled his marital obligations, and was the no-fault party, and that Wang had maintained an improper relationship with the other opposite sex for a long time and lived together during the existence of the marital relationship, which seriously violated the duty of fidelity of the husband and wife, which was enough to cause psychological and spiritual damage to the non-faulty party in the husband and wife relationship, and Wang was at major fault for this.

Jin Zhanlei, vice president of the Case Filing Division of the PeiXian Court, said that according to Article 1091 of the Civil Code, if there is one of the following circumstances, the party without fault has the right to claim damages in the event of divorce: (1) bigamy; (2) cohabitation with others; (3) domestic violence; (4) abuse or abandonment of family members; and (5) other major faults. In this case, Li, as the no-fault party, should support Li's claim for moral damages. In the end, the court ruled that Wang and Li should divorce at the same time, and compensate Li for mental losses of 30,000 yuan.
