Magic like the Kingdom of Picture Books

The Bee Tree tells the story of a love of reading and sharing wisdom.

Mary and Grandpa were reading in the study, and for a moment Mary got tired of it. Grandpa led her to find the bee tree. They came to the checkerboard flowers, caught a few bees, and burrowed into the jar. First, they carefully released a bee. The bees buzzed and flew in the direction of the bee tree, and Mary and Grandpa followed. Along the way, they meet all sorts of people: Mrs. Goller with the baby, Ina on a bicycle, Mr. Lundgen the gentleman, Miss Hermann the elegant, The adventurous Bossa, the wandering musician, and the shepherd. These people followed the bees, through the meadows, over the fields, through the woods, through the highlands, and after some hard work, they finally found the bee tree and tasted the mellow honey. It turned out that Grandpa wanted to tell Mary the same truth, that the path of pursuing knowledge is arduous, but it is worth it, because the wisdom we harvest will be incomparably sweet and fragrant.
