In the 1980s, our country was just in the midst of a post-war recovery period. But the development process is different from country to country. At that time, Vietnam was attacked by a large number of countries, France colonized it, and the United States intended to intervene. As a great power at that time, the Soviet Union had the right and obligation to make an attitude towards the Vietnam incident. But was the Soviet Union really intent on protecting Vietnam? The answer is obviously no, and it just wants to take the opportunity to do something with Vietnam.
After the Soviet Union protected Vietnam, if it wanted to send troops to the Vietnamese battlefield and win a place on the battlefield, but the soldiers needed up to two months and needed to face the problem of water and soil insecurity, the Soviet Union retreated. This means that the Soviet Union and the United States were supported by our country from beginning to end. The war ended in Vietnam's victory, and the United States and the Soviet Union formed a confrontation between the two factions. I thought that Vietnam would recuperate after the victory, but I didn't want to be more ambitious, but the Soviet Union, seeing Vietnam's ambitions, wanted to use Vietnam to attack our country. So he sent troops to make trouble on the border of our country.
In December 1978, our leader Deng Xiaoping decided that he could not always be passively beaten, and decided to launch a self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, which was also an international expression of china's attitude toward aggression. On February 17, 1979, China sent 700,000 People's Liberation Army troops to sweep through Vietnam, and in less than a month, it returned to China in an instant. In this battle, two generals, Yang Dezhi and Xu Shiyou, were appointed as commanders, and they were commanded from both yunnan province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Because on the eve of the operation, our scouts inadvertently picked up the operational deployment map of the Vietnamese army in Vietnam, which provided a very favorable opportunity for our army. Before the Vietnamese could react, they disrupted the Vietnamese command plan that had been deployed for several months.
Just as General Xu Shiyou attacked the border of Hanoi, he received an order from our leader Deng Xiaoping to withdraw his troops. After this border of Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, General Xu Shiyou in this war, the more courageous, originally thought that he could take Hanoi in one fell swoop to successfully return to China, but did not expect to suddenly receive the order to withdraw, so he was angry, but the military order could not be violated, and had to lead all the troops back to China. Why withdraw troops? Why not take Vietnam in one fell swoop?
The three reasons are: First, the Soviet Union, as the backing of the Vietnamese army, is hostile to our country. After the declaration of this battle, the Soviet Union has already begun to deploy troops, only to send troops to attack our army, but the Soviet army to reach China, it will take two months, if the battle time is delayed again and again, after two months, our army may be attacked by the Soviet army. At the same time, the Soviet side also made a statement to our country that as long as China withdraws its troops in Vietnam, the Soviet Union will restore diplomatic relations with China.
Second, this war is a war of counterattack, and our country has long stated that it will not occupy Vietnam during the battle, but will only have a deterrent effect on Vietnam. Third, there are too few countries that support our attack on Vietnam, only two, and most of the big capitalist countries are condemning our entry into Vietnam. If any more improper acts of aggression are committed, then our country will become the same as the United States and become the handle of the Soviet Union. Forced by the above three reasons, our country has had to withdraw its troops.
