"Song of Youth" is a novel written by contemporary writer Yang Mo, first published in 1958. Yang Mo's semi-autobiographical novel based on his personal experience is set against the background of the "9.18 Incident" and the "12.9 Movement" experienced by Japan during the Japanese invasion of China in the 1930s, and through the growth story of the heroine Lin Daojing, he constructs a classic narrative of revolutionary history and also reveals the historical inevitability of the growth path of intellectuals. Its revolutionary friendship and patriotism have deeply touched and inspired generations of young people.

She revealed that compared with the performance in 2019, whether it is from the director's style or the addition of music, it has injected fresh blood into the unchanged theme of the Song of Youth. "This performance is already the ninth revision of the whole opera, the good things are changed, and we have poured countless efforts, new ideas and new presentations into each rehearsal, hoping to make more audiences have an impact and be moved in the theater."
Since its premiere in 2009, the opera Song of Youth has been highly recognized by experts and audiences. In 2011, the play participated in the first China Opera Festival exhibition and won seven awards, including "Excellent Repertoire Award", "Excellent Music Award" and "Excellent Performance Award". In 2019, the original opera "Song of Youth" of Peking University Opera Research Institute was selected as the "Action Plan for the Promotion of Original Cultural Products in Colleges and Universities" by the Ministry of Education.
