P&G said it has not received any reports of adverse events related to the recall so far. The amount of benzene detected in daily exposure products is not expected to have a negative health impact. However, out of caution, the recall is underway. Benzene is an organic compound that causes cancer when people and animals come into contact with benzene through breathing, oral administration and skin. Benzene is also classified as a class of carcinogens by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer.

The reporter contacted Procter & Gamble China. The relevant person in charge responded that the recall only involves some dry hair spray products in North America and does not involve the Chinese market. All products sold in the Chinese market comply with relevant national standards.
