The Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army led by Yang Jingyu brought great trouble to the Japanese army, and many actions of the Japanese army were difficult to implement under the obstruction of Yang Jingyu. In 1940, because of the betrayal of traitors in the team, Yang Jingyu's whereabouts were exposed and surrounded by the Japanese army. After discovering that they could not get any news from Guo Lian's mouth, the Japanese threw her in a large pit outside the city, who was already out of breath, but fortunately, a well-wisher who passed by rescued Guo Lian.
Back at home, Guo Lian's body was already overwhelmed by the torture of the Japanese, and she knew that her time was running out, so she called her children to the bed with her last breath. Guo Lian, who was in a hospital bed, told her son Ma Chongyun that she had married Ma Shangde when she was a teenager, that she knew that Ma Shangde was a person with lofty ambitions, that she had never complained about Ma Shangde, and asked her son to find their father after her death. At the end of his death, Guo Lian handed Ma Chongyun an old photo, and told Ma Chongyun that the photo was his father, asking him not to give up and keep looking for it.
Struggling to find the Father
After his mother's death, Ma Chongyun embarked on the path of finding his father. However, Ma Chongyun traveled to the homes of all the Communist Party members in Qishan and did not have a single word of news about his father. In the days that followed, Ma Chongyun continued to search for his father's whereabouts while working.
In 1952, Ma Chongyun was eating at home as usual, when suddenly a group of people came to the house. Ma Chongyun seemed a little overwhelmed, not knowing what these people were looking for in themselves. At this time, the man in charge of the group said to Ma Chongyun that they were members of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee, and they knew where his father was, but unfortunately his father had died. Ma Chongyun was not surprised by this result, but what he did not expect was that his father was the famous anti-Japanese national hero Yang Jingyu. This made Ma Chongyun fall into confusion for a while, he was obviously surnamed Ma, how could he be Yang Jingyu's son? In 1953, Ma Chongyun and his sister came to Harbin thousands of miles away, and when they saw the remains of their father, Ma Chongyun couldn't help but hug his sister and cry. In 1958, at the public ceremony of his father Yang Jingyu, Ma Chongyun made a speech. After the end of the ceremony, General Yang Jingyu was buried in Tonghua City as a marshal.
