The brick inscription of the monk Dashi Pagoda was built in the twelfth year of the Sui Kai Emperor (592 AD)

The bricks are 15.5 cm long, 11.4 cm wide and 3.6 cm thick

It is now in the collection of Zhejiang Provincial Museum

Excavated in 1982 in hangzhou, the inscription is Yang wen, the original yin engraved on the fan, molded. The inscription on the three ancestors of Zen Buddhism is written by the Four Ancestors Daoxin Master of Zen Buddhism, and is currently the only authentic calligraphy of the Four Ancestors Daoxin Master. The inscription is three crosses on the front wall of the brick, and the eight characters on the left wall, a total of thirty-eight characters, the inscription is Yang, the yin is engraved on the fan, and the boundary is made between the lines. Wen Yue: "In July of the twelfth year of the reign of Emperor Kai of the Great Sui Dynasty, the monk Master Xuan disappeared into the Shuzhi Anhui Gongshan Mountain, made offerings to the pagoda, and wrote the Daoxin as a memory. "The inscription strokes are exquisite, the knots are loose and beautiful, and the northern monument is still strong and healthy, but it also contains the gentle feeling of the southern book."

Monk Xuan, Sui high monk, not a famous person, or Chen Liuren, or Xuzhou people. Originally a Northern Qi resident, he was over forty years old and had sores, and he asked for repentance. Hui can shave it and secretly teach him the secret of the Dharma. Hui Zhou Wu destroyed the Buddha, so he lived in seclusion in Shuzhou Anhui Gong Mountain and Taihu County Sikong Mountain, living in an impermanent place, accumulating more than ten years, when no one could know. During this period, the Dharma was preached to the Daoxin. He also went through the Mountains of Luofu in Lingnan, returned to the Anhui Gong Mountains, and died for the sake of the public. Emperor Xuanzong of Tang became a master of Jian Zhi Shan. He is the author of the 600 words of the "Inscription of Faith" and the Three Patriarchs of Zen Buddhism.
