I. Major Losses of the Party
Zhao Shiyan was such a revolutionary martyr, as one of the founders of the Communist Party, in order to realize the great revolutionary ideals and to make China prosperous. Under the torture of the Kuomintang reactionaries, he still firmly refused to surrender, preferred to die unyieldingly, never surrendered and did not expose the secrets of the party, and was poisoned by the Kuomintang reactionaries, and his age was also fixed at the age of 26.
In April 1927, Chiang Kai-shek rebelled and led the Kuomintang reactionaries to revolt, arrest revolutionary volunteers, and suppress the Communist Party, many revolutionary volunteers died as a result, and among these revolutionary martyrs were many leaders of not low status in the party, including Zhao Shiyan, who was a well-known early leader of our party and was also a superior of Zhou Enlai.
Second, young people have great talents
Born in a large family in Chongqing, Zhao Shiyan once went to France to work and study, and the European branch of the CPC was also founded and grown up with his help; after returning to China, he was valued by the party and let him take over important tasks in the party, appointing him as the leader. The loss of such a revolutionary is heartbreaking
In the autumn of 1912, Zhao Shiyan attended the Longtan Senior Primary School, when Wang Boshan, a member of the League, taught him geography, and the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal ideas propagated by Wang Boshan were deeply imprinted in his mind.
For the sake of MingXinzhi, Zhao Shiyan decided to cut off the long braid representing feudalism on his head, unwilling to have a little involvement with the feudal and decadent rulers. His mother was shocked by his deviant behavior, but his father, Zhao Dengzhi, thought that his son would become a great instrument in the future.
Living up to his father's expectations, his talents were indeed revealed in the early days, and on March 21, 1927, before the Northern Expedition army entered Shanghai, Chen Duxiu, Zhou Enlai, Luo Yinong, Zhao Shiyan and others led and commanded the Shanghai workers' uprising in the city of Shanghai in order to assist the Northern Expedition army.
During the third armed uprising, Zhao Shiyan and Zhou Enlai worked together to command workers' pickets to engage in armed confrontation with the warlords, and under the bloody battle, the armed forces represented by the workers they led defeated the Shanghai warlords fiercely, and at the same time took advantage of the hot iron to control all the places except the Shanghai concession.
This leadership uprising fully demonstrated Zhao Shiyan's leadership ability, and also provided effective assistance to the Northern Expeditionary Army's invasion of Shanghai, so the workers' movement developed more deeply and broadly, and in May 1927, Zhao Shiyan was appointed a member of the Central Committee, but it was not long before the revolution was betrayed by Chiang Kai-shek.
3. Being betrayed by cronies and exposing their identities
Fearing the strength of the workers' ranks, the Kuomintang reactionaries confiscated the guns of the workers' pickets and seized the opportunity to arrest and harm many revolutionary volunteers of our Party.
When the situation was turbulent, Zhao Shiyan and his wife Xia Zhixu had already found a place to live, ready to move away from the original site, who expected that the time of moving coincided with the pouring rain, so they planned to postpone the move, but did not know that the agent had ambushed into his home.
No. 190 Zhi'an Fang, North Sichuan Road, was the house of Zhao Shiyan's wife and mother-in-law, when he went home to eat as usual, braving the heavy rain to hurry, when he was about to get home, his mother-in-law broke free of the control of the agent and pushed down a flowerpot from the windowsill, but due to the noisy rain.
Zhao Shiyan did not notice the sound of the flowerpot falling to the ground, as soon as he entered the house, the agent controlled him, under the interrogation of the agent, Zhao Shiyan was calm and relaxed, and the agent only found a huge silver ticket of 40,000 oceans in his home. Zhao Shiyan calmly and calmly said that he was engaged in business, and it was normal for a businessman to have a large amount of silver tickets in his family, but this huge silver ticket was the activity funds needed by the party organization he was entrusted with, and the secret agent was suspicious of Zhao Shiyan's explanation.
But the search in his home continued to rummage, and nothing suspicious was found. When the agents were just about to leave, a secret agent suddenly found that Zhao Shiyan only had leftovers on the table, and he pointed to the leftovers and asked, "So rich to eat this?" Having a huge amount of money but only eating leftover food, this can be imagined to be the behavior style of the Communists, and the secret agents arrested Zhao Shiyan on this ground.
Zhao Shiyan's final identity was also exposed due to the rebellion of his cronies, Zhao Shiyan died on July 19, at the age of 26 at the age of youth, after his death, his wife Xia Zhixu gave birth to a widowed son Zhao Shige who inherited his revolutionary will in early 1928.
