Comrade Yuanpeng's father was Comrade Shuoxun, who was an old revolutionary who held many important positions.
Comrade Yuanqian's mother is Comrade Juntao.
Comrade Juntao, surnamed Zhao. As a teenager, she followed her brother Zhao Shiyan into the revolutionary movement. Zhao Shiyan was Yuanqian's fifth uncle.
Yuanqian's third aunt was named Zhao Shilan, a very famous elder sister. During Zhao Shilan's stay at the Women's Normal University, he and Liu Hezhen led the revolutionary campaign to expel the principal Yang Yinyu.
After Yuanqian was born, his father said: "He belongs to the 'Yuan' generation in our Li family, so let's call it Yuanqian." The meaning of lush grass and trees shows that our family has another descendant of the revolution, and I hope that he can be like the lush grass and trees, forever rooted in the land of the Chinese people. ”
Later, when Yuanpeng went to Yan'an when he was 12 years old, Comrade Jiang Nanxiang helped him change his name.
In August 1931, comrade Shuoxun was unfortunately arrested for betrayal by traitors. On September 5 of the same year, Comrade Shuoxun calmly became righteous at the age of 28.
Later, after many turns, in 1940, the 12-year-old YuanQian came to Yan'an.
In the autumn of 1942, at the age of 14, Yuan Peng entered the middle school of Yan'an University.
During the study period, one day, Yuan Qian followed Chief Chen to eat in the canteen of the organ.
When they began to eat, the supreme leader (chairman) also came to the canteen. Everyone immediately got up to greet the supreme leader, and Yuanqian immediately stood up. After greeting, everyone sat down, and the highest chief sat on the opposite side of the far side.
The supreme chief looked at Yuanqian and asked, "Where is this doll?" ”
Chief Chen replied, "He is a student of the Middle School department of Yan'an University, and his father is Comrade Shuoxun. ”
The supreme leader thought for a moment. Chief Chen immediately added: "This doll is the son of Comrade Shi Yan's sister. ”
When he heard Zhao Shiyan's name, the supreme commander smiled and said, "Shiyan, we know each other very well, we have all worked under Comrade Dazhao, Shiyan is engaged in the workers' movement, and I am engaged in the peasant movement." ”
After saying that, the supreme commander carefully looked at Yuanqian again, paused for a moment, and said: "Comrade Shuoxun remembered that he had participated in the Nanchang Uprising, and later heard that he died on Hainan Island. ”
During the meal, the supreme leader asked Yuanqian, "What homework are you studying now?" ”
Yuanqian replied, "I'm studying some documents." ”
The supreme chief asked, "Do you read a novel?" ”
Yuanqian said, "Look. ”

Yuanqian replied, "I am watching Romance of the Three Kingdoms." ”
Three kingdoms? When the chief heard this, he asked happily, "Okay." So let me ask you, which person do you admire most in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms"? ”
Yuan Qian blurted out, "I admire Cao Cao the most." ”
When the supreme chief heard this, he was a little surprised.
The supreme chief asked, "Then why do you admire Cao Cao?" ”
Yuan Peng said, "Because Cao Cao can unite cadres." ”
The supreme chief was very happy to hear this, and asked, "Then you give an example." ”
Yuan Peng said: "For example, in the Battle of Guandu, Cao Mengde won the victory and captured many letters exchanged between his subordinates and Yuan Shao's high-ranking officials and advisers. However, Cao Mengde did not take any measures to deal with them, but burned these letters in front of these people, so he united this part of the people. ”
After listening to his answer, the supreme chief was very happy and nodded his head in praise. And say to everyone, "Amazing. This doll is amazing, to be cultivated well, it must be a talent in the future. ”
This praise from the supreme chief gave Yuanqian a great impetus and always inspired him to keep moving forward. In the years to come, whether in study or in all aspects of life, he always followed the example of the supreme leader.
In 1948, Comrade Yuanqian went to the Soviet Union to study. Further studies in hydropower at the Moscow Power Institute.
After returning to China, Comrade Yuanpeng successively held many important posts. After 1987, he became a full-fledged state.
On July 22, 2019, Comrade Yuanpeng passed away at the age of 91.
Comrade Yuanpeng once said: "The revolutionary education I received during the Yan'an period was the greatest spiritual wealth in my life. And my comments on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms were inspired by the comments of some old comrades. At that time, I answered the Chairman's question in relatively simple and affirmative language, and was therefore praised by the Highest Head (the President). ”
