At the series of press conferences held this morning in the host cities of the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing, Gao Jian, executive commander of the Xicheng District Volunteer Command and secretary of the Xicheng Youth League District Committee, introduced that during the Winter Olympics and The Winter Paralympic Games, "Xicheng Big Mama" will also appear as a city volunteer in the ranks of urban volunteer services.

According to the deployment of the Beijing Winter Olympics Urban Volunteer Work Plan, urban volunteers will carry out urban volunteer services in 6 Winter Olympic demonstration communities, 21 key communities and 15 urban volunteer service sites in Xicheng District, including important transportation hubs, commercial outlets and tourist attractions.

Gao Jian introduced that in the recruitment and organization of volunteers, Xicheng District relies on the existing excellent service projects and volunteer service operation mode, fully mobilizes the strength of the existing normalized brand volunteer service team such as "Xicheng Big Mother", effectively gives play to the regional advantages of the central organs, enterprises and institutions in the district, and plays an exemplary and leading role with the volunteers of party members as the backbone, forming a team of volunteers with excellent quality and ability and excellent service quality.

In the volunteer service work, in addition to carrying out urban volunteer services including personnel guidance, information consultation, language services, civilization publicity, emergency relief, cultural dissemination, environmental protection, joint construction of safety, and disability assistance services, Xicheng District will also carry out a series of winter Olympic theme activities to create a volunteer service atmosphere for the Winter Olympics in the whole district.

During the Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympic Games, Xicheng District will extensively mobilize "Xicheng Big Mama" and the majority of primary and secondary school students to carry out ice and snow sports knowledge competitions, "Winter Olympics have me to dress up the capital", "volunteer service to enjoy a different taste of the year", civilized traffic guidance, national fitness, green environmental protection, garbage classification and other volunteer service activities, with practical actions to polish the "golden business card" of Beijing volunteers.

In order to do a good job in the protection of urban volunteers, Xicheng District has carried out material allocation from three aspects: image display, guarantee incentives, and epidemic prevention and safety. In addition to the uniform distribution of goods throughout the city, 12 items of materials in 3 categories will be provided to city volunteers, such as storm jackets, down vests, masks, disposable gloves, thermal three-piece sets, and emergency medicines.
