Intel confirmed that the processor of the EUV lithography process will be shipped in 2023: Core, Xeon have it all

Compared with TSMC and Samsung, Intel has slowed down in the semiconductor process in recent years, there are many reasons for this, but an important factor is that Intel has always believed that the EUV lithography process is immature, and they pursue the development of 7nm or even 5nm process without EUV lithography machine, which results in delays.

In the face of the opponent's lead in EUV lithography, Intel is now speeding up, and the node originally called 7nm is now renamed Intel 4, which is Intel's first process to use an EUV lithography machine.

In an interview with the media a few days ago, Sanjay Natarajan, general manager of Intel's logic process development, confirmed that Intel has confirmed that the EUV lithography process can reach the point of production, Intel will also quickly turn to the process, EUV can simplify many processes, reduce the 30-step process to 3-step operation, and reduce the possibility of error.

Sanjay Natarajan confirmed that Intel's first-generation EUV lithography processor will be shipped in 2023, the desktop version is Meteor Lake, and the server side is granite Rapids processor.

Meteor Lake processor is very familiar to everyone, this is the 14th generation Core to be released in 2023, in addition to the EUV process, it will also use advanced 3D packaging, divided into multiple modules, of which the IP of the CPU computing module has been tape in, the end of this year or the beginning of next year should be tape-out.
