The large-scale red classic national opera "Sister Jiang" was staged last night (December 16) at the Hainan Provincial Song and Dance Theater in Haikou. This is also a blockbuster performance of the 2021 (22nd) Hainan International Tourism Island Joy Festival Art and Performing Arts Week.
This national opera was created in 1962 by the famous artist Yan Su based on the novel "Red Rock", and the famous artists Yang Ming, Jiang Chunyang and Jin Sha served as composers. The story is that in the spring of 1948, when our People's Liberation Army launched a strategic counteroffensive throughout the country, Sister Jiang, who led the guerrillas to carry out armed struggle, was unfortunately arrested for betrayal by traitors. In the face of torture, Sister Jiang rebuked the enemy with righteousness and righteousness. Finally, on the eve of the liberation of Chongqing, generosity was made and heroic sacrifices were made.
The performance team is composed of the "fifth generation of original actors of large-scale classic national opera" of the former Air Politics Cultural and Labor Troupe. Among them, Wang Li, the actor of Sister Jiang and a post-80s soprano singer, uses the "Chinese-style bel canto" to interpret the heroine's arrogance with flesh and blood, and the character image is more grounded, so that the red classic is regenerated.
Since its performance in the 1960s, "Sister Jiang" has undergone 5 rehearsals, influenced generations, and written a miracle in the history of Chinese opera with the spiritual light of revolutionary heroism and the artistic charm of revolutionary romanticism, and is known as the pinnacle of Chinese national opera history.
So far, the national opera "Sister Jiang" has been performed more than 1,000 times. Especially in the 2007 re-rehearsal, the current team is in the generation of "true transmission" under the careful guidance of Yan Su, Yang Ming and other main creative personnel. Since its premiere at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, this performance team has accumulated rich experience in more than 100 performances over the past 10 years.
