Hussein Karajan: The Archipelago
Hussein Karajan: Archipelago
"Hussein Karajan: Archipelago" is the first fashion-related exhibition since the establishment of the Design Center of the Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai, and the exhibition space is designed as nine small islands, representing nine fragments created by the designers, many of which are really stunning.
First, the viewer will see two works from Karajan's graduation, the first is a dress buried in the ground, derived from the "Short Intervention" series. Another piece, Airmail, was a pioneer in wearable art in the 1990s, and when the envelope was unwrapped, it became a dress.
In the other corner of the exhibition hall, there is a piece that resembles a puffy skirt. This work is Karajan's 2000 series Past Minus Present, in which he used alloys and motors to make inflatable flared skirts and tulle skirts for karst landscapes by cutting layers.
At the end of that year's big show, a boy ran onto the stage and activated the carbon fiber remote control dress worn by the model through the remote control. The panel of the skirt opened slowly, revealing a soft light veil inside.
Not far away, we'll see one of his best-known works, 2000's Later. The set of furniture in the picture above is not for you to sit down and rest, their true appearance is actually like this
Isn't that amazing! The sofa cover became a dress, the wooden bracket became a suitcase, and the round table in the middle became a skirt, and when I first saw this video, I was really shocked!
There are so many works in this exhibition that the editor will not spoil them one by one, and friends who like it can go directly to the scene to see other masterpieces of this design wizard. If you have enough time, you can also watch Karajan's big show videos over the years in the adjacent screening area.
John Hayduk: Masquerade at Sea
The Chinese premiere of American architect John Hayduk will combine the history of "Masquerade" with the "Masquerade" tone of Hayduk's works, presenting The Profound Architectural Exploration of Hayduk with a series of works.
At the entrance of the exhibition hall, "Masquerade at Sea" opens with a 1:2 scale "Book Market" model, a project of Hayduk's "Vladivostok" series (1983-1989).
After entering the door is the Blue Room, and you will see "The House of Rejected Participants". The installation was rebuilt in a 1:5 ratio, and each room has its own differences, some with a bed, some with a dining table and a chair, some with a bathtub...
Next to the Blue Room, the Black Room displays Hayduk's "Berlin Nights" series of manuscripts and four architectural models based on the manuscripts. On one of the walls, a passage was also diagonally opened that led to Whitehall.
Most of the installations, models and buildings in Whitehall are based on Hayduk's design drafts, which are very delicate and very interesting, and if they can be built, they are definitely a must-have for many architecture enthusiasts.
Interestingly, the exhibition also brings together these architectural models to form a magical "Hayduk Town".
Liang Shaoji: Silkworm me, silkworm
With the help of a series of immersive installations, videos, photography and sound, the exhibition systematically sorts out the "nature series" works created by the artist and the "silkworm", and looks back at the representative works of each stage of its creative context.
The exhibition "Shen Yun" was created by the artist over a period of 19 years, using silk to wrap fragments of thousand-year-old camphor wood.
The escalator not far from "Silkworm Road" is shrouded in a "white canopy". Standing on the elevator, like entering a passage in time, symbolizes the transformation from me to silkworm.
The huge installation of "Heavenly Garden" located on the second floor is the largest work in this exhibition, it is 30 meters long, 10 meters wide, 10 meters high, and looks like a "greenhouse" in appearance. Walking inside, the four pyramid-like taps, as well as the three rectangles erected, are surrounded by silk and emit faint lights, which is stunning.
"Bed/Nature Series No. 10" In the exhibition hall on the side of "Heavenly Garden", there is a large glass cabinet, which contains small beds, which are made of silk and metal, with different shapes, and taken along a horizontal angle, the photos taken will make people shine.
Time and Eternity is said to have lasted more than twenty years. The time-consuming layers of silk record countless fleeting, erratic traces of life, and the patience and strength contained in them are closely linked to the concept of "eternity".
The five-meter-long silk scroll of "Residual Landscape" droops like a waterfall, and silkworm cocoons, silkworm eggs, silkworm moths, and silkworm sand naturally form a vast, abstract and detailed landscape painting here.
At the end of the exhibition, there is the artist's studio. There is a model on the table here, which is a three-dimensional layout diagram, and the friends can check whether there is any omission against this.
The "big chimney" with high value
Do you think "The Big Chimney" only has exhibitions?
Of course not!
There are also a lot of "punching places" that are beyond the film.
The "big chimney" can be said to be the "most beautiful boy" here! Unfortunately, there are fewer opportunities to go in, and you can only go in when there are occasional special exhibitions, and you can only photograph the appearance usually.
At the PSD Design Center on the outside of the first floor, the strong industrial wind attracted many people to come to pose for photos.
On the third floor, near the corner of the river, there is this oversized glass curtain wall. Here, you can sit on a green bench and take a break and see the beauty of the Huangpu River.
There are also several bamboo pavilions on the escalator on the third floor, where tired friends can sit down and rest for a while. Walking to the innermost part, you can also see the figure of the Nanpu Bridge in the distance.
The terrace on the fifth floor is one of the favorite places for many visitors, where the Huangpu River, the greenery along the coast, and the surrounding high-rise buildings form a beautiful picture. Not to "melt" yourself into it, I am so sorry for this scenery. However, the terrace is currently under renovation and is looking forward to its early return
At present, the two exhibitions in the museum are free, the only fee "Hussein Karajan: Archipelago" 50 yuan / zhang, if the three people watch the exhibition together, there are 99 yuan of "archipelago" tickets, equivalent to 66% off Oh ~ ~
