Nine-four, or jump in the abyss, no blame.
This is the fourth word of the I Ching, that is, the nine-four words. It means that the dragon either leaps into the sky or is still in the abyss, and there is no disaster. It can be seen that "or jump in the abyss" should be understood as "or jump, or in the abyss", there are two choices.
If we regard the six stages of life as the six stages of life, and September Fourth is in the middle position, it is equivalent to the stage of a person reaching middle age and not going up and down. This stage is relatively difficult, not only are there old and young people in the family, but also in the bottleneck period of the career, neither willing to do nothing for a lifetime, but also do not have enough courage to rush forward, the life is quite difficult.
But everything has two sides, since the status quo is so, we may wish to look at it from another perspective, we can see a different world. For example, you can think that there is no opportunity or strength to soar, so it is also a good choice to temporarily maintain the status quo, do a good job in the work at hand, take care of existing customers, and hold your breath in the face of unrealistic opportunities.
Although the whole Qiangua is teaching people to be actively advancing, it is a choice to make progress after weighing the pros and cons, and it does not matter whether it is right or wrong to take the lead in taking retreat into progress, or as the scholar Zhu Sheng gave Zhu Yuanzhang's strategic policy of pacifying the world, "build a wall high, accumulate grain in a wide area, and slowly claim the title of king".
Even if you don't have the opportunity to get rich and wealthy in your life, it is not impossible to maintain the current life of small wealth and peace, after all, some people are suitable for such a life - in fact, we are the most obscure. For example, you are suitable for being a small boss, guarding a façade for a lifetime, and the family is also happy, there is no need to be embarrassed to open branches to the world, to be listed, and to become the world's top 500.
Of course, it's not that you can't have this mentality, but 10,000 people want to be the big boss of the world's top 500 companies, and there must be 9,500 people who can't do it, because there are so many people, and the probability of your failure is extremely high. At this time, the wise choice is "in the abyss", and if you keep the present fruit, there will be no disaster.
When you have opened a store for a period of time, there are a lot of funds in hand, there is a good reputation in the small town, the customers in the east of the city are not too troublesome, and even willing to brave the rain to consume in the store in the west of your city, then you will open another store in the east of the city. "Opening another store" is your choice to "jump", and there is no harm in taking a step forward.
Therefore, whether you are still in place waiting for the opportunity, or the time is ripe to move forward, you have to look at the objective conditions, as long as you follow the objective laws to do things, there will generally be no fault. For the middle-aged people who are dragging their families and struggling to move forward, whether they move forward or maintain the status quo, there is a way out.
Confucius, in his interpretation of this saying, said, "Impermanence up and down is not evil." There is no end to it, and it is not an outlier. A gentleman enters the moral cultivation and wants to do so in time." Up and down, in and out are fickle, sometimes retreating, sometimes forging ahead, just changing in time, don't care too much, but make more preparations, and seize it as soon as you have the opportunity.
It can be seen that Confucius's attitude tends to be positive, which is also related to the position of jiusiyao, since it has reached this stage of life, it is possible to break through the current ceiling with one more effort, and there is also a stage to realize the value of his life. Just like a middle-aged man, he has been struggling for many years, in the face of great opportunities, if you do not rush, I am afraid that I will have more than enough and insufficient strength in the future.
If you think you have enough ability to be more successful, don't want to live a life that looks like you can see, even if you try to fail, you won't have much to lose, jump forward bravely. After all, one step up from 94 is the seat of the 95th Emperor. This position is not necessarily a secular high position below one person and above ten thousand people, but the culmination of one's development.
For example, you have been the second in command in a certain unit for more than ten years, so many years of accumulation you have already had the strength of a leader, then there is an opportunity in front of you, as long as you are willing to take the initiative to compete, there is a seventy or eighty percent certainty of being the first leader, are you entering or being patient? Forward, of course.
When you bravely take this step, it is not harmful to you in any way, and there is a bigger stage to play. Even if you fail, it's still the same as before, nothing to lose. Just like the previous example, if you don't want to open a second store in the east of the city, you still open the store in the west of the city and serve every customer well, and you have no disaster.
Although the Qiangua Jiusi is compared to a middle-aged man, he looks like he can't go up and down, and his life is more difficult, but he can attack and retreat, and the result is not too bad. This is also called a degree of progress and retreat, the conditions are not yet ripe or you do not want to live too hard, just live a good life in the present; if you are not willing, you should work hard and pursue greater success.
As long as you can retract freely, bend and stretch, and bear the consequences of the two choices, it is the best choice in your life, and they will not bring you much harm. Once you have this mentality, even if the current days are very difficult, I believe you will be able to survive.
