Since the beginning of this year, in the face of the global epidemic situation, chip shortage and other tests, SAIC-GM-Wuling Chongqing Branch has relied on the perfect automotive industry chain and supply chain in Liangjiang New Area to vigorously promote innovative development and ensure the increase in output.
"Since its commissioning in 2014, the company has been committed to building an automated, data-based and intelligent manufacturing system, promoting the development of Chongqing's automobile industry in the direction of intelligent manufacturing, and helping Chongqing's economy to continue to develop steadily and high-quality." Huang Chunsun, general manager of SAIC-GM-Wuling Chongqing Branch, said.
According to him, the company has carried out a planned transformation of all production lines, which has greatly improved production efficiency. For example, the unmanned vehicles and industrial robots in the workshop are programmed by their R&D personnel themselves, which not only reduces the cost, but also allows the company's engineering personnel to exercise their ability to innovate.
With the blessing of intelligence, in October this year, the Chongqing branch rolled off the production line of 37,285 vehicles, and the monthly output exceeded a record high, which effectively promoted the high-quality development of the automobile industry in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area.
SAIC-GM-Wuling Chongqing Branch was officially completed and put into operation in Longxing New Town, Liangjiang New District, Chongqing in 2014, and is a benchmark factory built by SAIC-GM-Wuling. On September 27, 2019, the first Wuling Hongguang V export car of the branch rolled off the production line, filling the historical gap of no vehicle product export in Longxing New Town.
By the end of 2021, Chongqing Branch will have achieved a cumulative roll-off of more than 2 million vehicles, created an output value of about 66 billion yuan, achieved an output value of more than 10 billion yuan for five consecutive years, and paid about 3.7 billion yuan in taxes.
As one of the important automobile industry bases in China, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, relying on platforms such as Chongqing Liangjiang International Automobile City, has gathered 10 vehicle manufacturers such as Changan Automobile, Changan Ford, Beijing Hyundai, SAIC Hongyan, as well as a large number of supporting enterprises such as Yanfeng Johnson, ThyssenKrupp and Continental Group, to build a complete automotive industry chain.
In the future, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area will aim at the direction of digitalization, intelligence and greening, support enterprises to grasp technological transformation, brand building and market development, develop and launch more high-end models and new energy and intelligent networked vehicles, and boost the high-quality development of Chongqing's automobile industry.
