To tell the truth, Toyotomi Hideyoshi was indeed full of confidence at that time, thinking that he could destroy Daming, and even had already thought about dividing up China. Why is Toyotomi Hideyoshi so confident? I think the reasons are varied, so let me give you an analysis.
1. Toyotomi Hideyoshi's judgment of Daimyo
Sincerely, at that time, under the leadership of Qi Jiguang and a number of other famous generals, the Wokou in the coastal area were beaten to the ground, but the previous record was really too bad, how bad was it?
At that time, more than forty Wokou, armed with samurai swords, were killed from the coastal area to the city of Nanjing, and there was no opponent along the way, and finally Daming sent heavy troops to take this small Force of Wokou.
Why is it so hard to play? On the one hand, because Daming has been in peace for a long time, most of the troops in the coastal areas are empty pay or old, weak, sick and disabled or lack combat effectiveness, so Daming's combat strength is relatively poor; on the other hand, these Wokou are not ordinary people, but Japanese samurai who have been defeated in Japan, who have studied more sword techniques and have strong force.
Therefore, similar events gave Toyotomi Hideyoshi the illusion that Daimyo's army was vulnerable and could easily destroy Daimyo as long as he sent troops. Therefore, from this point of view, Toyotomi Hideyoshi judged that the geometry of Daimyo's strength was too reckless and stupid by virtue of some hearsay (half-truths), and thus he had an untrue judgment of Daimyo.
Second, Toyotomi Hideyoshi's judgment of his own strength
How strong was Toyotomi Hideyoshi at that time? After a long period of turmoil in the Japanese Warring States, a large number of elite generals gathered under Toyotomi Hideyoshi, among which Yoshihiro Shimazu and Governor Konishi were known as "famous generals" in Japan, with the title of Seven Guns of Mt. Takashi. This group of people is still enshrined as a myth in Japan, and has appeared in games such as "Sengoku Matchless", which shows how much the Japanese people love this group of famous players. It can also be seen that people were superstitious about these famous generals at that time.
In addition, after years of conquest, Toyotomi Hideyoshi gathered more than 100,000 troops, including light infantry, heavy armored samurai, musketeers, etc., which had been in battle for a long time and had amazing strength. Therefore, Toyotomi Hideyoshi was very confident in his own strength. In Toyotomi Hideyoshi's view, Daming's young master soldiers must not be able to defeat their own elite soldiers in hundred battles.
3. Toyotomi Hideyoshi's little nine-nine
To tell the truth, Toyotomi Hideyoshi went to Korea to realize his ambitions on the one hand, and on the other hand, to consume the princes. At that time, Japan was not so much the world of Toyotomi Hideyoshi as it was more akin to a co-lord status. Many of the daimyo who existed at that time, such as Tokugawa Ieyasu, were only willing to please, and did not really want to return to Shun toyotomi Hideyoshi.
During the reign of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, he could still suppress this group of daimyōs with his own ability and prestige, but if Toyotomi Hideyoshi died, his successors would definitely not have the ability to suppress this group of daimyōs. Therefore, Toyotomi Hideyoshi also had a very important purpose of paving the way for his successor.
When Toyotomi Hideyoshi sent out a large number of headless checks, the whole of Japan fell into a frenzy, and countless daimyo were willing to fight to the death for their future, so Toyotomi Hideyoshi's wish was granted, and he could successfully use Daming to consume the strength of this group of daimyo, and thus make his country more consolidated.
