After discovering this situation, the police immediately organized personnel to analyze and judge, and after confirming that the behavior was true, they quickly carried out the arrest work, and successfully arrested the suspects Mei, Su, and Wang, and seized 77 mobile phones at the scene.
After investigation, the suspect Mei got acquainted with Lin through Duan's introduction, and the two sides hit it off during the conversation on the illegal act of "pulling people into the group" to obtain illegal benefits, and then Duan and Lin provided account data packages, and Mei operated multiple mobile phones to send friend verification applications to each account, and then pulled people into various fraud groups after passing, so as to facilitate criminals to carry out other cybercriminal activities and make profits from them.
From August to October 2023, in order to obtain illegal benefits, Mei, with the help of Lin, rented a house in a community in Jin City, Hunan, and carried out the illegal activity of "pulling people into the group", making an illegal profit of 2,500 yuan. After late February 2024, in order to obtain more benefits, Mei hired Su and Wang to jointly carry out the illegal act of "pulling people into the group" in a community in Tawau embankment. According to statistics, since February this year alone, Mei and others have invited 384 citizen accounts to enter the fraud group, from which Mei illegally profited more than 10,000 yuan, and Su and Wang made more than 8,000 yuan respectively.
According to the criminal activity information obtained through the investigation and judgment, the police chased Mei's upline Duan and Lin online. On May 9, with the assistance of the Taizhou police in Zhejiang, the police went to Zhejiang to arrest Duan and Lin.
At present, five suspects, Mei, Su, Wang, Duan, and Lin, have been taken criminal compulsory measures in accordance with the law, and the case is under further investigation.
