As the saying goes, curiosity kills a cat, but it's not.
Curiosity is undoubtedly a heart that wants to know what it does not know. If we only focus our eyes on this, then in my opinion, it seems that most men, women and children in ancient and modern China and abroad have such a "heart".
When the first fish lived a life in muddy water and was seduced by the brilliant and colorful land, it struggled to climb ashore from the mud, which was curiosity.
When the first ancient ape was also tired of crawling around in trees and was interested in the flat environment of the land, it tried to climb down the tree and take the first step, which was also curiosity.
The moment we fall to the ground, curiosity is always with us, why the eyes blink, why the stars shine, why the sun is hot, why this and why that, a whole bunch of whys arouse our curiosity.
There is a kind of "curiosity" that is most common in Lu Xun's articles; What drives the nation to scramble to watch the "beheading show" is curiosity; What drives the neighbors to listen to Xiang lin's sister-in-law cry is curiosity; What drove Ah Q's "revolution" was also curiosity. But perhaps all this can only be called "curiosity", but "heart" is lost. Such "curiosity" is based on the voyeurism of the suffering of others, on the ignorance of the darkness of the "iron house", and if this is also "curiosity" in the true sense, then there is none.
What about looking at the world? Such "curiosity and indifference" also abound. Joan of Arc at the stake satisfied the curiosity of the medieval people; The roaring Quasimodo satisfied the curiosity of all sentient beings. Such "curiosity" seems to have become the world language of "naked children with one heart", and in such a language it is written with ignorance, mediocrity, decay and lifelessness.
True curiosity requires observation. "A flower is a world, a leaf is a clean thing", there is no lack of beauty in the world, but there is a lack of eyes to find beauty. Observe with your heart, and even the most ordinary things will turn into "magic". In ancient times, the ancestors looked up at the stars, explored the mysteries of the shifting of the stars, and the style of the light clouds; By now, we are waving through telescopes to another planet, perceiving the microscopic universe through microscopes. It can be said that without observation and tools to help us observe better, curiosity will also close the window on the atrium and fall dust.
True curiosity requires thinking. If "the brilliant starry sky above our heads" is an infinite stage for us to observe, then the "moral law in our hearts" is the only way to inspire and restrain us to deepen the results of our observations. As Pascal said, "Thinking makes man great, and all our dignity lies in thinking—even if you are nothing more than a reed under the mighty nature." If there is no such thinking under the "presence of the soul", then no matter how many apples fall, I am afraid that the discovery of "gravity" will not be smashed; No matter how hard human beings observe and learn, it is difficult to create and progress in the slightest.
True curiosity is not "curiosity", it does not exist to "discover" the suffering of others and trample on the truth with a mediocre or ignorant mentality. Its existence requires the observing eye to locate, and the mind of the thinker to show its value.
With such curiosity, difficulties can be eliminated, progress will be made, and human beings will be able to survive better and maintain their dignity...
Hamlet says, "In the shell of fruit, he also thinks that he is the king of the infinite universe." Perhaps, because of the presence of real "curiosity", we can burst out such a cry with a more powerful voice.
What's more, because of the curious heart, our world is far more vast than the fruit shell.
