Apple postponed its return to the office indefinitely, and was scheduled to return to the office in February

Webmaster's House (ChinaZ.com) December 16 News: Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a memo that Apple employees will not have to return to the office in the near future because the recent variables of the new crown epidemic have made management decide to slow down plans to return to the office.

As early as November, Apple had sent a letter telling employees that it wanted them to return to the office starting Feb. 1, but had now postponed the return date indefinitely. There is no news yet on when employees will be able to return to work, and for now, those who are able to do so will continue to work from home.

The delay would be good news for Apple employees who have been afraid to return to the company's office, but Apple does plan to get employees back at some point. Cook said the return date is "not yet determined."

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Apple executives have made it clear that employees will eventually need to return to work. "Video conference calls do bring us closer together, but there are some things it simply can't replicate," Cook said in June.

When employees can safely return to the office, Apple is planning a mixed work schedule. Employees are expected to work in the office three days a week, but there is an option to work from home two days a week. Apple also plans to allow employees to work remotely for up to a month each year, giving them more time to travel and be closer to their loved ones.

Because employees need to continue to work from home, Cook said Apple will provide $1,000 per company employee to buy home office equipment.
