NVIDIA originally planned to release two new cards on December 17, RTX 3070 Ti 16GB and RTX 3080 12GB, which will be listed and sold on January 11 next year, but the former has been postponed to next year, and the latter has no further news, and even does not rule out that it has been cancelled.

However, it is confirmed that the RTX 3080 12GB has been delivered to the graphics card manufacturer, just waiting for further instructions.

Before we speculated, the RTX 3080 12GB is not only an increase of 2GB of video memory, the result is true, its memory width is also open from 320-bit to a full 384-bit, and the capacity change matches, the frequency is still 19GHz, so the bandwidth is expanded to 912GB/s.

Thanks to the enhancement of the memory, the mining performance has been increased from 43MH/s to 52MH/s, an amplitude of 21%.

And that's not all, the RTX 3080 12GB uses a new core numbered GA102-220, the number of stream processors increased from 8704 to 8960, and the number of light-chasing cores and tensor cores also increased to 70 and 280.

The core frequency must also be adjusted, the specifics are unknown, and the power consumption of the whole card has increased from 320W to 340-350W, which is almost the same as the RTX 3080 Ti.

The same is true of the previously released RTX 2060 12GB, which has increased core size and power consumption in addition to increased video memory.

However, since the change is so big, why not call it RTX 3080 SUPER?
