Wang Qian was a chess fan, and when he saw the chess player, he put down the matter of chopping wood and sat on the side to watch the two play against each other. Before the end of the game, the handle of his axe had rotted— so the mountain was also called the grinding axe. When he returned to the village, he was already human. I didn't think that he had just been on the mountain for a hundred years on the ground.
Halfway up the mountainside to the north of Rotten Ridge, there is a cave called the White Dragon Cave. Directly opposite the mouth of the White Dragon Cave is the carriage Yu. The reason why it is called Carriage Yu is because the canyon formed by the Rotten Ke Ridge and the Xuanwu Mountain in the north resembles the carriage of a horse-drawn carriage.
Walking along the carriage, to the middle of the mountain, there is an ancient temple called Xuanwu Temple, and the god enshrined in it is Xuanwu The Great.
The two immortals who played chess mentioned earlier, the one dressed in white was the East Sea White Dragon. The one who struck the black clothes was Emperor Xuanwu. At that time, in order to govern this world, the Jade Emperor sealed the four gods: the Eastern Green Dragon, the Western White Tiger, the Southern Suzaku, and the Northern Xuanwu. The White Dragon of the East Sea was very unconvinced when he saw that the Jade Emperor had crowned his brother Qinglong as the god of the East, so he fought with his brother Qinglong and wanted to usurp the throne and stand on his own. As a result, Qinglong was defeated. Bai Long thought, I can't beat you, can't I beat Xuanwu? Isn't that Xuanwu just a turtle and a snake! So he declared war on Xuanwu again. Unexpectedly, the snake has the magic weapon of the snake, the turtle has the stunt of the turtle, the divine turtle and the divine snake work together, and the white dragon fights only the ability to fight, and there is no power to fight back. When the Old Dragon King of the East Sea heard about the White Dragon, he was very angry, and he rushed to him, pulled out one of the White Dragon's tendons, and locked it up in the White Dragon Cave halfway up the waist of Rotten Ke Mountain, so that he could repent.
Since then, Bai Long has changed from evil to righteousness, and has made friends with Xuanwu, and when they are fine, the two will meet to play chess and live a leisurely and leisurely life.
For thousands of years, the people here have greatly admired Emperor Xuanwu. Because the things that Emperor Xuanwu was responsible for were closely related to people's lives, life and death.
Xuanwu, also known as the Black Emperor, is the northern part of the town, the main wind and rain. The north belongs to water, so it is also called Xuanwu as the god of water. The basalt turtle and snake are intertwined, implying the sympathy of yin and yang, evolving all things, and is a god of fertilization. In addition, Xuanwu is also a god of life, and whether life or death is all in the hands of his old man! For these reasons, it is not surprising that people worship Xuanwu Emperor.

One night, Yang Liulang had a dream, dreaming that there was a divine snake and a divine turtle descending from the sky, the divine snake drilling a well, the divine turtle building stones, and soon built a well, and the well water of Biqing rose up, filled the wellhead, and overflowed from the wellhead, and the soldiers happily held the water to drink, and shouted sweet well water.
The next day, soldiers came to report that a well had sprung up not far from the camp, and that there were entangled turtles and snakes guarding the well. When Yang Liulang heard this, he jumped up with joy and walked quickly to the well. The clear spring flowed from the wellhead and rushed down the mountain. Divine turtle and divine snake, the four eyes are shining, shining with moving light. Yang Liulang knew that he was the subordinate of Emperor Xuanwu, and immediately led all the soldiers to kneel and prostrate. When people looked up, Emperor Zhenwu didn't know where he was going.
In order to thank Emperor Xuanwu, Yang Liulang and the local people built a Xuanwu Temple. Gen took the image of Zhen Wu depicted in the Taoist scriptures and sculpted the statue of the Xuanwu God. Emperor Xuanwu was dressed in hair and feet, dressed in Xuan robes, gold armor and jade belts, angry sword, turtles and snakes on his feet, and a round light on the top, and his image was very powerful, but very cute and amiable.
This incident was written into the book "The Chronicle of Things" compiled by Gao Cheng in the Song Dynasty. People say that the water of this sweet well is not only sweet, but also curative. Therefore, many people in the city drive cars and pull buckets to get water. Legend has it that every rainy day, Emperor Xuanwu wore a black coat, stepped on the turtle, held a sacred snake, and came to Xuanwu Mountain to swim in the clouds. As soon as Emperor Xuanwu arrived, the white dragon flew out of the White Dragon Cave and danced in front of Emperor Xuanwu. The people also said that when Xuanwu came, it would be a good year.
