The intolerable Lü Kutao wanted to abandon the baby, so he threw it at the door of a temple called Ban ruo temple, only to be seen by the nuns in the temple. The nun was very happy to see the baby, saying that this child looked so unusual, and it was bound to be able to achieve a great fortune in the future, so she adopted the child and asked Lu Kutao to wait for the child to grow up and then pick him up again.
The child that Lü Kutao threw behind was named Yang Jian, and what did he look like, so much so that his biological mother hated it? According to the Book of Sui and the Zizhi Tongjian, Yang Jian "was a human dragon jaw, with five pillars on his forehead, his eyes shooting outward, his writing in his hand, his long and short, and his depths were serious."
This means that Yang Jian's chin is very prominent, there are five columns of flesh on the forehead, which extend to the top of the head, the line of sight of the eyes is not as level as ordinary people, but to the direction of the sides, in today's words, it is basically astigmatism plus squint, the palm of the hand is also written with the word "King", the upper body is much longer than the lower body, and there are deep wrinkles on the face.
To know that Yang Jian was just born at this time, but he grew up like this, so that Lu Kutao did not have the joy of being a mother in his heart, but immersed in the fear of "did I give birth to a monster", so that he wanted to abandon it, which is also understandable.
Fortunately, Yang Jian was adopted by the nuns in the Ban ruo temple, and smoothly spent his infancy and childhood, and was taken home by Lü Kutao. Lü Kutao's husband, named Yang Zhong, was one of the twelve generals of The Western Wei Dynasty, and later followed The Northern Zhou Taizu in his southern conquest of the Northern Zhou, and can be regarded as the founding hero of The Northern Zhou, his life's work was obtained from horses, and when he taught his son Yang Jian, he not only taught him martial arts, but also taught him to read subsets of scripture history.
Yang Jian also showed extraordinary qualifications and understanding, no matter what book he read, he could basically recite it after reading it once, and in terms of martial arts, he studied hard day and night, and exercised an extremely strong physique, and his personality was very calm, and he was quite reliable in doing things, so after he became an adult, he was also entrusted with a heavy responsibility by the Northern Zhou Emperor and became a pillar state general and a great sima who commanded the military power.
It was only because Yang Jian's power was too great, and later he was gradually suspected by the emperor, so he gradually began to want to stand on his own, and finally accepted the "Zen concession" of the Northern Zhou Emperor in 581 and became emperor, established the Sui Dynasty, and in just a few years swept away all the separatist forces, ending the chaotic world since the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and establishing a powerful unified dynasty.
In terms of the selection of officials, Yang Jianli abolished the nine-pin Zhongzheng system monopolized by the family clan, but changed it to a five-province and six-minister system; in terms of social and people's livelihood, he repeatedly reduced taxes, tried to reduce the burden of the people, and implemented the equalization system, so that the living standards of the people were rapidly improved, the Sui Dynasty became an extremely powerful dynasty, and the Sui Wen Emperor Yang Jian himself became an emperor recognized by later generations.
