It is understood that Magna released EtelligentReach as a complete set of three-electric solutions, including dual motors, inverters, gearboxes and required software management.

One of the highlights of the technology is that it can disconnect the front motor when it is not needed, thereby reducing the loss of the powertrain and increasing the range of the car, and the maximum mileage of electric vehicles using this technology can be increased by 90 miles (145 kilometers).

In fact, the technology is somewhat similar to the time-sharing four-wheel drive system on the fuel vehicle, and the user can switch the four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive according to the use needs to obtain stronger power and better fuel performance respectively.

Magna said the system will be officially unveiled next year and subsequently offered to any automakers interested in it, but exactly which models will be used has not been disclosed for the time being.
