A brave heart is courage, the ability to overcome fear and do what you are afraid to do. For example, break the fear of death, break the deadlock of negotiation, lift the inhibition of thought, and so on.
At its core is one word — broken. It's about breaking through the fears in front of you and doing what you should do and don't dare to do.
So, what kind of heart is brave?
First of all, a simple heart is a brave heart.
Historically, most of the best warriors have come from peasants, or herders. Spartan warriors were mainly serfs, the Eurasian steppes galloped with Mongolian warriors, Napoleon once made the French farmers passionate, the IDF bones were peasants, the Chinese revolutionary war also mainly relied on peasants, and so on.
Why?
Because whether they are farmers or herders, they receive nature education and have a simple heart.
Because of their simplicity, they do not steal and slip, whether in the farmland, pasture, or on the battlefield, they do what they should do seriously. Because of their simplicity, they are righteous and will not be ashamed of their friends and leave their comrades-in-arms. Because of their simplicity, they have no special fear of death, so they do not shrink back in the face of death. This is the best quality of a warrior.
In that year, when Qi Jiguang formed the Qi family army, he believed: "Ten rooms and nine yi, there will be faithfulness; the whole hall of Zhejiang, there is no courage!" But he first recruited soldiers in the commercially developed Shaoxing and Lishui regions, and these soldiers were too flexible to be reliable when they started a war. Later, he found that the Yiwu people were brave, united, and fierce, so he recruited soldiers there, and specially stipulated that as long as they did not opportunistically and were not afraid of death, honest people. Later, it was these Yiwu soldiers who became the backbone of the Qi family army.
Zeng Guofan also learned from Qi Jiguang that he would win with clumsiness, not recruiting soldiers who had served as soldiers, only recruiting ordinary peasants, and they had to be mountain people. Because the mountain people are more honest! (Of course, the current Yiwu is also a commercially developed area, but there are ancestors who set an example, and I believe that the soldiers of Yiwu will still have the bravery of the Qi family army in that year.) )
Rousseau believed that children's education should go to the countryside, using nature and labor to cultivate the simple heart of children, which can also be said to be a natural heart, a barbaric heart, and a brave heart.
Second, a righteous heart is a brave heart.
What is justice?
Plato believed that justice is a rational division of labor for society; for individuals, it is to have their own things and do their own things. That is to say, justice is the spirit of the law and the basic moral norms that conform to the wishes of the majority of the people, maintain normal social order, and live and work in peace and contentment for everyone.
But in life, not everyone is so tall. Everyone actually has a deep desire in their hearts, and this desire often makes us detached from reality and lose ourselves.
For example, in "The Emperor's New Clothes", the emperor, because of his greatest power, has the strongest desire, first loses himself and puts on new clothes that do not actually exist, while the ministers are collectively silenced, and only the naïve children point out the basic facts.
Could it be that only the children saw the emperor's untouched ass? Obviously not, the grown-ups are simply blinded by desires, authority, interests, and temptations, and dare not or are unwilling to say anything. Some people think that this is wisdom, but in fact it is cowardice.
For individuals, to be able to maintain common sense in the face of benefits and temptations, pleasures and distresses is to be brave. That is, no matter what the situation, "I am still me".
Some time ago, Li Tiantian, a female teacher in rural Hunan, used her teaching common sense to burst the bubble of school formalism, she was an ordinary person, but it was this ordinariness that made her brave.
"See righteousness and do not do, no courage also." To be right is to be brave, and to maintain social justice requires bravery.
In ancient society, it was not uncommon for feudal bureaucrats and landlords to rob the old riches and bully men and women, and the people had a hard time. Therefore, there are Qing officials such as Bao Zheng and Hai Rui who have left their names in Qingshi, and there are all kinds of heroes who have replaced Skywalker.
Li Bai is a chivalrous guest, he is superb in swordsmanship, not afraid of power, likes to fight unevenly, and also wrote a poem "Chivalrous Line", expressing his admiration for Zhu Hai, Hou Wei and other chivalrous guests.
Modern society also needs to see righteousness and courage. For some elderly people who fall down and dare not help, hospitals where emergency patients dare not save, umbrellas that shield and condone the underworld, and small officials whose eyes only look up and do not look down, their hearts are actually very fragile.
Moral courage is the courage to do the right thing. Liang Qichao believes that this is will education, and only when a person has an independent personality, a bright heart, and a selfless mind can he have a strong will and truly achieve the courage without fear.
Third, the heart of hope is the heart of bravery.
Marxist philosophy holds that there has never been any savior in this world, and that the key to happiness is in its own hands. Bloch argues that hope is an anticipatory emotion against fear and fear, and can also be thought of as a pipe dream. It is different from night dreams, and it is different from delusions, but it is a dream of pursuing a better life.
In night dreams, one enters the subconscious mind. Daydreaming is different, an imagination of a person in a waking state. Just like A Q, it stems from people's dissatisfaction with the status quo. So, daydreams are lucid dreams.
In night dreams, the subconscious mind can only linger in the past, and all dream experiences are based on the known. In other words, if you don't know, you can't dream about it either. Daydreaming is not the case, it is future-oriented. Because I am not satisfied, I yearn for change. Therefore, daydreaming is a forward dream, and its ability to "dispel the fog and split the chaos" is a positive activity.
In the past, we thought that daydreams were delusions or delusions that were simply rooted in the subjective world, so we often used them to satirize the delusions of others. In fact, as Copernicus and Bruno proposed the heliocentric theory, daydreams can be based on reality because they are awake, and because of their forwardness, there are various new possibilities.
At the end of the 15th century, Columbus wanted to reach India by voyage, which was a pipe dream for others. Because at that time, most people did not believe in the theory of the circle of the earth. The Queen of Spain, if not a charlatan, at least doubted him, but fortunately, the payment was not large, but only to give him a title of "Sailing Commander" and a small amount of funding, but it could produce great returns. So, when Columbus set out, few people believed he could come back. Yet he made history and discovered the New World.
Hope is different from delusion, it is based on reality, facing the future, will strengthen people's will to yearn for a better life, so that people gain the courage to move forward.
Fourth, the heart of wisdom is the heart of bravery.
Passions and desires are easier to understand, one needs encouragement and the other needs moderation. However, in many cases, the situation is not so clear, whether to advance or retreat, it is often difficult to decide, what to do?
This is the case with wars, where winning or losing is difficult to predict in most cases. In clause clausewitz, there is only a little glimmer in front of you, or if it is bright and dark, you want to bet all your bets. Do you dare?
At this time, the courage of the puppet alone can no longer solve the problem, but needs wisdom. Only a well-thought-out commander who has insight into the nature of things dares to follow that little glimmer of light.
We know that Napoleon's classic battles are all won by less, but in each battle he has carefully considered, repeatedly compared the battlefield situation and the strength of the enemy and us, and always has several sets of plans in his mind, and he uses probability to solve the uncertainty on the battlefield. So overall, he is winning more and losing less.
In the Liberation War, Liu Deng's army did not want to be reared, and jumped thousands of miles into the Dabie Mountains, and Mao Zedong also thought it through. First of all, Chiang Kai-shek's key offensive made the situation in the liberated areas of northern Shaanxi and Shandong critical, and it was necessary to break the enemy's strategic blockade. Second, the People's Liberation Army is a soldier of the people and has a strong ability to survive. Third, Chen Su and Chen Xie's regiments were ordered to be pinned down on both wings. This was a dangerous move, but in the end it broke the enemy's key attack and played a strategic turning point.
Taking risks is not by luck, but by wisdom, and it takes courage.
But war is, after all, a matter for both sides of the enemy, and no matter how well thought out, there is no guarantee of success. If you have made great efforts and made great sacrifices, but you have never gotten what you want, you need to seriously reflect on it, whether to continue to insist or to withdraw decisively. Again, this is a difficult problem, and it also requires great wisdom and great courage.
In the Battle of Stalingrad, German Marshal Paulus's 300,000 German troops were already at the end of the crossbow, but Hitler was not willing to give up, first refusing to retreat, then prohibiting surrender, and finally the entire army was destroyed, resulting in the death of 140,000 people. Hitler was indeed a paranoid man, and in 1944 he knew that the war was about to be lost, but he wanted the German people to fight to the death for his face. In the final analysis, it was he who lacked true wisdom and great love for the German people.
The same is true in life. Don't think that the effort will be rewarded, and don't die to face the guilt, the key is to judge the situation and adjust to the breakthrough point that suits you in time.
The courage to give up is not a lack of will, but great wisdom, which requires great courage.
The wise man is brave. Wisdom is not as simple as being clever, calculating, and having a mind, and the internal logic of wisdom is responsibility.
Friends, so to speak, is not everyone has a brave heart! What do you think? Which kind of bravery does your bravery belong to? Welcome to the discussion.
