In 1931, the last emperor Puyi had a big event, and after he was expelled from the Forbidden City by Feng Yuxiang in 1924, this major event happened to him.
This big thing is that Puyi was divorced by his concubine Wenxiu. This Puyi is also unlucky enough, he is the last emperor himself, this is again the wife Hugh, the ancient emperor in this regard he is the first person.
Wen Xiu's grandfather had a good life in that generation, her grandfather was a Shangshu, and he could be described as an extremely popular courtier, and the scenery was beautiful. Perhaps it is true that the rich are not more than three generations, and by her generation, she has been reduced to living a civilian life. The only thing left to her by her ancestors was her identity, she was a Manchu, a relatively noble bloodline.
Don't look at her identity, this identity is very important in ancient times, for example, some people are born to be serfs, to be untouchables. Some people are born with a golden key, and when they are born, their status is incomparably noble. You see that Puyi only chose from the Manchus when choosing a concubine, and although Wenxiu fell in the middle of the family, she still met this condition, and also laid the foundation for her to become Puyi's concubine in the future.
December 1, 1922, was the day Puyi and Wenxiu got married, and the next day was the day when Puyi and Wanrong got married. After one concubine, Puyi married two concubines in two consecutive days. At the beginning, the days of wen embroidery were okay, after all, the days were still fresh. Puyi hired Chinese and English teachers for Wenxiu. They discuss literature together, play together, and fly kites together on March days.
Later, the balance of Puyi's love gradually tilted towards Wanrong. The taste of being snubbed was uncomfortable, and Wen Xiu began to suffocate in his heart, and began to write a diary on paper to express his dissatisfaction. When he is extremely depressed, Wen Xiu will also lose his temper and even want to commit suicide.
Wen Xiu poured out the distress in her heart to two people, one was Yu Fen, a cousin who was extremely unhappy in married life, but had advanced thoughts:
Yu Fen's husband, Feng Shushan, was the eldest grandson of Feng Guozhang, the former president of the Republic of China, and had a noble family. But Feng Shushan's bad habits are difficult to change, eating and drinking all day long, looking for flowers and asking for willows.
Yu Fen first sympathized with Wen Xiu's suffering, and secondly supported Wen Xiu's divorce from Puyi to protect her rights. Wen Xiu's mind was not so open at that time, and she had never thought about the divorce from the emperor. Later, she consulted with her sister Wen Shan.
Wen Shan also supported Wen Xiu's divorce from Puyi, and Wen Xiu, with the support of Yu Fen and Wen Shan, finally made up her mind to divorce Pu Yi through legal procedures.
In order to be on the safe side, Wenxiu hired three lawyers to help him fight the divorce lawsuit. The lawyers helped him draw up the reasons for the divorce and the letter to Puyi.
On the afternoon of August 25, 1931, Wen Shan and Wen Xiu, on the pretext of distraction, with the consent of Puyi, took Puyi's special car and left the gate of Jingyuan. After that, he went to the National Hotel and asked the eunuchs accompanying him to carry the letter to Puyi and told him that they would never go back.
Subsequently, Wen Xiu and his lawyer sued Puyi to the court.
There are two reasons: first, abuse, making it unbearable; second, cold violence, living together for nine years, not a single luck. Ask for divorce and ask for 500,000 yuan in alimony.
Puyi was naturally very angry, feeling that Wen Xiu had done something that was bad for customs and insulted the ancestors. Puyi wanted to chase Wen back, but Wen Xiu had already left quickly. Puyi was very angry at Wen Xiu's accusations.
Soldiers will block the water to hoard, helpless Puyi also hired two lawyers to negotiate this divorce lawsuit for himself. Their initial goal was to save face loss and let Wen Xiu go back first. Then discuss and see if there is any room for redemption. However, this request was strictly rejected by Wen Xiu.
At this time, the divorce case between Wen Xiu and Puyi, known as the "Daofei Revolution", was destined to receive everyone's attention. Major newspapers and periodicals have reported on this matter, and many people have expressed their support for Wenxiu and supported her in pursuing her own happy life.
On the evening of August 26, lawyers from both sides held the first round of talks. The talks ended in failure because the two sides insisted on their positions and refused to compromise.
Puyi's side insisted that although the two could dissolve the marriage contract, they could not sue and could not publish a statement. At the same time, they felt that the 500,000 yuan of alimony proposed by Wen Xiu was a sky-high price, and they wanted to compensate for the living of 6,000 yuan per year. But this is all Puyi's wishful thinking, and Wen Xiu and the lawyers have to stick to their previous practices.
After a few days of stalemate, the Wenxiu side later made a big concession. The Mediation Office of the Local Court officially issued a summons to Puyi for the Mediation Office, and the support fee was set at 55,000 yuan, but it was necessary to pay cash in one lump sum.
At 1 p.m. on October 22, 1931, the last emperor Puyi and Shufei Wenxiu formally signed the "Divorce Agreement" in the law firm, announcing their divorce.
At the same time, Puyi also added additional conditions, Wenxiu could not remarry for life, and the two sides did not damage each other's reputation. Puyi also published an "edict" in the newspapers of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai, which is a fig leaf for himself:
"Lady Shu left the garden without permission, showing that she violated the ancestral system, removed her original title, and abolished her as a commoner."
The "Daofei Revolution" was the first royal divorce case in China's history, and it was finally over.
After Wen Xiu divorced Puyi, he used the money to buy a house and then ran his own private school. Wen embroidery has been recognized by students and parents, which is very good. But some people always bothered her and wanted to interview her, and some people tried to extort her money.
Wen Xiu's money was soon running out, and after a period of seclusion, Wen Xiu later found a job as a text proofreader in the daily newspaper. Wen Xiu cherished this job, did it very hard, and gave full play to her strengths, which was favored by the president of the newspaper.
Later, the director of the newspaper introduced Liu Zhendong, a major of the Kuomintang, to Wenxiu, and after the two got to know each other, they entered the palace of marriage in 1947.
Two years later, Liu Zhendong did not go to Taiwan with the current, but went to a flatbed car shop with Wen Xiupan, and the two of them had a hard time maintaining their lives by renting flatbed trucks. Although Liu Zhendong went from major to driver of rental flatbed trucks, the scenery was gone. But the two cherished such a calm and warm life and felt very happy.
But a few years later, Liu Zhendong and Wen Xiu's good life also came to an end, and Wen Xiu died of a sudden myocardial infarction. Liu Zhendong was very sad, but when he recalled the past, he was very relieved, he said that he could get the true love of the imperial princess, and he had no regrets in this life.
