Musk: Bezos should spend more time at Blue Origin and less of a hot bath

Elon Musk believes that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos should spend more time at Blue Origin to advance technology, but the latter seems reluctant to talk about engineering details.

Bezos reportedly works two afternoons a week at Blue Origin, while Musk says he works 120 hours a week. He is trying to urge Bezos to invest more time in Blue Origin so the company can make more progress.

Musk said: "In some ways, I'm trying to motivate him to spend more time at Blue Origin so they can make more progress. Like a friend of mine said, he should spend more time at Blue Origin and less time in the hot shower. ”

He praised Bezos for "having pretty good engineering talent," but added that the former Amazon CEO didn't seem to want to put "energy into engineering details."

Musk said: "The details determine fate, and Bezos really takes himself too seriously." ”

A source told that Bezos used to spend only one afternoon a week on Blue Origin. But in September, he increased to two afternoons a week.

Musk, meanwhile, revealed that he tried to split his time evenly between Tesla and SpaceX, but that depends on the "type of crisis" he faces.

The CEO tweeted in 2018 that people need to work 80 to 100 or more hours a week to "change the world." Musk has previously said he works up to 120 hours a week.
